A Winning Thursday
It’s a winning Thursday here at Pieceful Thoughts! Before I join in with the I Like Thursday crew over at Not Afraid of Color, I want to announce the winner of the Synergy Quilt PDF Pattern, which was recently released by Sew Preeti Quilts. You can take a peek at my version of the Synergy Quilt here.
And the winner is . . .
Eileen, I will be contacting you by email soon! Congratulations!

I have been working on my challenge quilt for The Endeavourers, which is due May 1st. I’ve been experimenting (very timidly) with stitching on tea bags. Here’s a peek at one of the blocks as it was being stitched.
I added more stitching to the green fabric, but nothing too fancy. I’ll explain more about the process in my post of the finished quilt. It’s been a fun project, and something a little different!

I mentioned in my last Thursday post that I was looking forward to our annual book fair here in town. My daughter and I decided to go on opening night, around 6:30. I knew it would be busy, but wowza. It was packed to the gills with books and people. It’s held in an ice rink, and the checkout line went from one end of the rink to the other. I sent a quick text to Molly and told her not to bother coming, so we rescheduled to the next night. It was much quieter last night, and although I didn’t find some of the specific books I was looking for, I came home with just 6 that I’m looking forward to reading.
We have not had this annual event for two years, so everyone was eager to do some book hunting. Over 70,000 books were donated – isn’t that amazing?! It’s really fun to browse and see what you can find.
The Weekly Wilbs
This is a Throwback Thursday photo of Wilbs from last year that makes me smile each time I see it. A nose to tail nap on a sunny afternoon!
I hope you are enjoying a winning Thursday, too! Thanks for stopping by and reading my post!

I’m looking forward to seeing more of that fun project. Wilbs looks so pettable, that could be a full time job. How fun to attend a book fair, looks like you made a nice haul.

Congrats to Eileen. Look forward to the tea bag finish interesting; and yes, nice change of pace on usual quilting projects. Our university had their book bazaar about a month ago after a 2 year break and had about that many books to sell too – had a wonderful time looking through. I got a Jacqueline Winspear too – look forward to reading it. Enjoy your new books!

Hi Wendy! Congrats to Eileen! I hope she enjoy the pattern – how can she not?! – and shares her version with us on IG. Wilbs – how can that possibly be comfortable enough to fall asleep that way? I guess I shouldn’t knock it until I try it . . . although I don’t think I could get myself into or out of that position. Book Fair!! How fabulous. After all the reading I’ve done in the past two years, I would look forward to finding some new titles to try. Smart thinking going in with a list!! {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

The challenge project looks very interesting…I look forward to your post about it!
Wow! What a book sale (I love book sales)! I am so encouraged to see that books aren’t falling out of favor at all! I much prefer the touch and smell of the pages to an electronic book any day! 🙂

I’m really curious about the tea bag project – sounds unique and looks pretty neat! Looks like you got a nice pile of books at the sale. I enjoyed seeing all the titles, and might have to put some on my list to read. Fun Wilbur pic, and I liked Barbara’s name for that – yoga kitty!

Quilting is in my Blood
I’m very intrigued about stitching on tea bags. I read The Island of Sea Women a few years ago with my book group. Snow Flower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See is one of my all time favorite books.
Colette
I like your Synergy quilt and especially the colors and fabrics. The book sale sounds awesome. I just read the synopsis on a couple of the books that you purchased. Oh the tea bag piece looks interesting.
Sally
Never heard of stitching on tea bags. I’ll be curious how it turns out. Wilbur! Always a cutie.
The Morning Latte
Ha, Wilbs! 70,000! Wow! Where did the idea to stitch on tea bags come from?

Love that throwback of Wilbs. The book fair takes me back to the annual one at the school where I started teaching years ago. We’d come out of there with 20-30 books each, my mum, sometimes my sister, and my girls. It was the best. I am so grateful for books, for imaginations, and for authors that weave wondrous tales to take us away!
