All A Flutter
All A Flutter is a recently released pattern designed by Vicki’s Crafts and Quilting. I had the pleasure of testing this pattern for Vicki, and today I’m sharing my version.
Vicki makes several table runners and sells them in her Etsy shop. This is her latest design, which she released on Friday. If you are looking for a pretty table runner for Spring, this one should be on your list.
If you follow Vicki (and if you don’t, you should), you know that she knows table runners. She has made several beautiful runners over the years. Her patterns are well written, easy to understand, and quick. This runner can easily be finished in a day.
For my version of the runner, I pulled out my stash of large scraps and found this floral print, Sundrops, by Corey Yoder. I’ve held on to this piece of fabric, waiting for the perfect project, and I think this was it, don’t you?
I chose to machine appliqué my butterflies, which goes so quickly. If you enjoy hand sewing, you also have the option of needle turn appliqué, or glue basting, too.
Once the top is pieced, the rest goes together easily. Determined to use up all of my stash of the two border fabrics, I pieced the backing and had just enough. You can see I had to be just a bit creative.
I opted to do straight line quilting for a quick finish, using Aurifil 50wt. variegated Golden Glow (#3920). It is a very soft golden thread that blended so well with the fabrics in my runner. I used the last of the Sundrops fabric to bind the runner.
I’m so glad Vicki asked me to test this pattern for her. Vicki and I met through our blogs, but interestingly, we grew up in the same area and now live just about an hour apart. She inspires me with her designs and her creative energy.
I hope you stop in at Vicki’s shop and pick up an All A Flutter pattern. It’s a great pattern to have on hand for a quick gift or little punch of color for your Spring decorating!
Happy Monday, all!
Wendy

Hi Wendy! This is the epitome of Spring! The colors just represent so well and I can almost feel the breeze from the butterfly fluttering by. Or maybe it’s because I have my window open here at work for the first time in ages. I’m going to enjoy every moment of the 61-degree day and I hope you have a happy Monday, too. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

What a lovely spring runner! So nice of you to test for Vicki and it is really the epitome of spring fun. The back is a perfect one too – using up the fabrics but in a beautiful way.

Love your version!! Those colors are lovely. Vicki always has such great table runner ideas. Fun fact: the very first election I ever voted in was a local school bond when I was a senior in high school in Rochester, MN. The high school that was built from those bond funds is the high school Vicki’s kids went to.
