All Dressed Up

How about a little dress today, for something different. I decided to do some garment sewing, which I haven’t done for years. Paintbrush Studios sent me the following fabric to play with.

All Dressed Up - I'm playing with these two fabrics today, Fruity by Maja Ronnback for Paintbrush Studio Fabric - piecefulthoughts.com

This fabric line is Fruity by Maja Ronnback for Paintbrush Studios. You can see the full line here. Aren’t these two fabrics cute?

Rather than sew something for myself, I decided to make a little dress for a little girl. I found this pattern for The Harper Dress, and thought it would be fun to try. It’s reversible! The pattern was simple, the pattern instructions were pretty clear.

The size 2 pattern takes 7/8 yard of each fabric. I pre-washed the fabrics and they washed up beautifully, so soft and lovely. I used Aurifil thread in a neutral color for the sewing, and Kam snaps to secure the straps.

This pattern is very quick to make. The pattern is a little vague with some of the instructions, but with a little sewing knowledge, it isn’t complicated at all. I top-stitched around the straps and arms, as well as the hem to anchor the two fabrics together a bit more securely.

This little cutie will be sent to my cousin’s daughter, for her little daughter. I hope it fits, and I hope she sends a photo!
