August Monthly Color Challenge Block
I have my August Monthly Color Challenge Block to show you today. I can’t believe we are in the last week of August. The month flew by!
By looking at the photo above, can you tell what the fruit/veggie inspiration was for the month?
The 2021 Monthly Color Challenge is hosted by Patterns by Jen. Each month, Jen shares a block on her blog, and we have the month to complete the block so we can link it up with her at the end of the month. There are prizes and we have some fantastic sponsors this year. You can read about all the details at Patterns by Jen.
This year, Jen is offering two sizes of blocks, 12″ and 6″. I have chosen to make the 6″ blocks. Wilbs thought he should be in the photo as proof that my block is 6″ and because he totally matches the colors. (Really, he just wanted to play with the thread.)
If you’re interested in joining us, you can find this block as a free download on Jen’s blog until the end of August. After that, it is available for a nominal fee.
Thanks for taking a peek at my August Monthly Color Challenge block. Stop back later this week, I’ve been in a Fall mood, and looking forward to sharing what I’ve been creating!

August really has flown by! Your mushroom block is great – you found the perfect fabric for it. It will be fun to see how you use these 6 inch blocks! Looking forward to fall sewing myself – I’ll enjoy seeing what you’ve been playing with!

Good morning, Wendy! S’rooms are not my favorite vegetable or fungus. However, your block does represent them very, very nicely. Not to mention Wilbs sitting there patiently, with his pretty green eyes. Thanks for sharing your block! I think I made mine . . . but I wouldn’t swear on my life that I did. HAHA! {{Hugs}}~smile~ Roseanne

Love to eat mushrooms on salad! Wilbur looks great with any blockš

Great interpretation of the color. I can see how that block would make a nice pattern in a whole quilt. Wilbur would like something the color of mice, thank you.
