Bag of Blues

Bag of Blues is my finish for this week. I made another bag using the Essential Tote pattern by Around the Bobbin. Do you have patterns that you find yourself using again and again? This bag pattern is one of them for me. It’s such a simple design, and the final product never disappoints!

For this bag, I used the three fabrics in the above photo. From the bottom up: a Rifle Paper print, Grunge Navy, and a light blue print in my stash. I modified the pattern to make a slightly smaller tote, measuring 18′ X 14″ X 4″.

I use Soft & Stable in the tote, and quilt straight lines stitched one inch apart. The thread matches the print so well, you can’t see the quilting, but you can see it in the navy fabric below.

Inside the bag, I adjusted the pockets to include a deeper pocket on one side to accommodate knitting needles. Both pockets have narrow slots for the knitting needles along with wide pockets for other items.

This bag was requested as a gift, so it will soon be on its way to be wrapped up for Christmas. Hopefully the recipient will be happy with this Bag of Blues!
