Christmas Finish
I have a Christmas finish to show you today, and an unexpected on at that. My Coreopsis quilt is done and I can’t wait to show it to you.
I showed you the quilt top a few weeks ago in this post, where I explained that it was done as an informal quilt along with Emily (The Darling Dogwood) – you can see Emily’s version here. I hadn’t intended this to be a Christmas quilt, but when finished it reminded me of a poinsettia. I’m delighted to have it done so I can enjoy it this Christmas.
I used Vand Co’s Fairy Dust Metallic ombre fabric for my quilt top and the binding. It’s difficult to capture the radiance of the ombre in photos, but the snow provided a nice backdrop! The top goes together quickly, making four large blocks, then joining them with sashing. The pattern was designed by James & Gracie and you can find it here.
Connie quilted this for me, and I am so delighted with what she chose to do! I love to take quilts to her and tell her to just do her thing. She never disappoints! Here’s a few close ups:
Swirls and feathers and holly – oh my!
Using red and green thread, the back of the quilt is just as gorgeous.
Here’s a closer view:
All that’s left to do is get the rod pocket sewn on so I can hang it. Once that’s done, I’ll share a photo in a later post. The quilt is 34″ square, so I have the perfect spot for it!
Happy Friday! Thanks for stopping by and taking at peek at my Christmas finish!

The best kind of Christmas that says Christmas but doesn’t scream it at you. You could keep it up longer if you wanted to. You both make a great team;)

Oh my goodness! When I saw that first photo pop up in my feed, I immediately heard in my head the line from Rudolph The Red Nose Reindeer: “You could even say it glows!” This quilt shimmers and glows and sparkles! The quilting is magical on your wonderful choice of fabrics and pattern 🙂

I love this! You did an amazing job with the placement of your fabrics – it just seems to flow, and the back looks like an elegant whole cloth quilt. And the quilting! Wow, tell her my favorite is the holly. She is amazing! Beautiful job Wendy! And now I’m eyeing the pattern . . .

WOWEE, Wendy! This is beyond gorgeous. I can’t wait to see it hanging in your house. What a spectacular project. I think the fabric choice is what pushes it over the top for me. Well done! You first photo makes me wonder – does Wilbs leave the tree and ornaments alone? I would think those ball ornaments would be very tempting for him. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

This one gets a big Wow! from me! It’s beautiful, Wendy! Did you set out to make a poinsettia, or was that just a fun surprise after the design was together? I love the look of the Ombre Fairy Dust fabric, and the quilting is so amazing! I bet you’ll really enjoy hanging this one up every Christmas.
