December Color Challenge Block
I’m posting my December Color Challenge Block today. The last block in this monthly color challenge hosted by Patterns by Jen. It has been a delightfully fun year of working on these blocks and using my stash. Thanks, Jen, for a fun year of playing with color!
Jen chose purple for the final block. I hunted through my stash, and I found these two fabrics.
The purple on the left really looks pink, doesn’t it? This photo is taken with my camera directly above the fabric, and my ceiling light was right over the camera.
In the next photo, I moved the camera down and in front of me, drawing in more of the natural light. This photo shows the true color of the two fabrics. Isn’t that crazy?
Anyway, here is my December block using those two fabrics.
Oops, thought I had cropped my little green toes out of there! Haha. Isn’t that a fun block though? And so easy. The perfect way to wrap up a fun sew along.
The Whole 2019 Monthly Color Challenge Gang
I think it would be good to show the whole group together, don’t you? Here they are, in the order they were made, starting with January in the upper left corner and finishing with December in the bottom right.
I’ll likely play a bit with arrangement of the blocks, but I wanted a photo of them in order. The December color challenge block needs to move from that corner. I have an idea for sashing, and it’s also from my stash, so I’m very happy about that. If my week plays out okay, I may have a finished top to show you on Friday.
Stay tuned!

This is going to be a fun quilt when you get it all together.

Lighting is everything with taking photos. It makes such a difference. When I am taking photos for fabric listings it can be really challenging to get them right and then it all changes depending on the settings of the viewers computer monitor/screen. Really difficult.
But this block is great and the quilt is going to be sooo cool. Looking forward to seeing it all sashed up and put together!

Hi Wendy! I love your block, and it is crazy how the colors change. I read somewhere that the camera/iPhone is trying to find the ‘white’ in the colors which is why it changes the colors. Whatever that means?!! I am looking forward to seeing your quilt top all together. I’m hoping to work on the block tonight . . . ~smile~ Roseanne
P.S. I couldn’t ‘like’ your post or comment on WordPress – odd.

Love this! It is funny how the colors and lighting changes things isn’t it? That is a fast block and not even on my quick list in front of me. I look forward to seeing how you finish it. I have an idea….just need to see if that is where I want to go or not when the last one is done.
