DrEAMi Fun
I had a little DrEAMi fun in November. If you aren’t familiar with DrEAMi, it is a fun little acronym for “Drop Everything and Make It” and originates from Sandra at mmmQuilts. Sandra has a monthly DrEAMi linky party on the last Saturday of each month. So I’m sneaking in with a few little projects so I can get in on the linky party.
At the beginning of November, I was invited by Vicki (Vicki’s Crafts and Quilting) to come and sew with her. I brought along a charm pack of Sandy Gervais fabric that I have had in my stash for awhile. Vicki let me use her AccuQuilt to cut these wedge shapes, and I made two of these little table mats. One was gifted, the other stayed with me. I have to admit that now I am a bit tempted by all the AccuQuilt sales at this time of year!
When I got home, I found that I had yardage on my shelf in that same fabric line, just enough for backing and binding on the two little projects. On this one, I practiced some free motion. It’s a bit wonky, but practice is practice, right?
The next little fall squirrel or DrEAMi project dropped in when I signed up for the Passport to Quilting Holiday Edition in mid-November. This block was designed by Krista Moser and is called Fall Folliage.
These blocks are fun to sew up. I made three in similar colors as Krista had in her pattern, and made a runner.
I just finished the top before I wrote this post, and I can’t wait to get this quilted. It’s a little late for the fall season, but we’ll just say I have a head start on next year!
Tomorrow I’ll have another little fun squirrel that dropped in by request from a friend, so I hope you’ll stop back for my To Do Tuesday post to see it.
Thanks, Sandra, for continuing to host the DrEAMi linky party. This November has been full of DrEAMi fun!

I like the leaf table runner and the purple background really makes those leaves pop.

Your tumbler project turned out cute!! But the leaf runner has my attention:)

I like those pretty wedges in your table mat, and wow on the 3-D Grunge leaves on the runner! Looking forward to tomorrow’s squirrel. 🙂
Helen
Wow! I need to touch those leaves to make sure they’re really just two-dimensional and not three. Funny how colors and angles can trick they eye. I love them on that gorgeous purple!
Tracie
Look at you go — trying lots of new things! I love the pops of color with the purple background. I wouldn’t have thought of that combo and it’s so great. That little felted squirrel is adorbs!

once you use an accuquilt I’m not surprised you would be tempted! All it took for me was a dozen+ mistakes in cutting when I was starting to have really bad hand arthritis and I couldn’t hold the ruler right to cut and kept cutting wrong before I got one. I love the squirrel.

Hi Wendy! Oh, that purple backing on the leaf table runner is a great selection! It really makes those leaves shine! And look at you, FMQ those tumblers. Really nice job. {{Hugs}} a bunch. ~smile~ Roseanne

Two really fun projects, Wendy! I’m tempted by the Accuquilt convenience, too – except that they’re so expensive… oh well. I love the way you were able to get the shading in those leaves, and the purple background is wonderful. Glad you were able to play with some squirrels this month!

Your quilting looks great! I love those leaves. Very pretty and I can see how they could be very versatile.
Sally Johnson
Love them both! You are one busy lady!
Laura
The tumbler quilt looks great…I don’t see anything wrong with your fmq! Absolutely love everything about the Fall Foliage table runner…striking! 🙂
Brenda @ Songbird Designs
I love this, Wendy! I have downloaded all the patterns but haven’t had time to really look at them yet! Your colors are great!

AccuQuilt dies are pretty amazing devices and can make short work of my least favorite step! The tumbler table runner looks great to me, and I hope you have a lot of fun quilting up those fall leaves. 🙂

Sometimes you can find AccuQuilt cutters on sale at Facebook Marketplace used. I did have one that I bought used and really had no place to set up permanently. It was very heavy IMHO and turning the crank was hard work. Perhaps the electric one would be a better investment for those of us who are getting older. That table mat looks so nice and FMQ doesn’t look wonky from her I love those leaves and really love the fabric choices that make it stand out.

Pretty table runner!!!
And your FMQ on the table runner is great! If what you think makes it wonky, doesn’t show up on pictures, it’s perfect!!!
Sandra Walker
I just love how many squirrels come to play in your sewing room, and make such beautiful projects! I saw Krista’s leaves too, but managed to resist…so far! Thanks for linking up and I’m looking forward to the next squirrel project reveal tomorrow!
Karla
Wendy, both projects are fabulous! The leaf block has the WOW factor big time!
Quilting is in my Blood
I love both your runners but especially that fall leaf runner. Did you use the diamond mini ruler that is shown in Krista’s pattern?
Nancy @ Grace and Peace Quilting
A couple of cute projects, Wendy!!! That purple background is makes it stunning!

Wendy your little runners are too cute. The Accuquilt dies are so worth it and they do keep coming out with more to tempt us. 😉
Cathy
Love the acronym. Also love your table runners. Sometimes these projects just have to made.

What fun projects! And your FMQ looks good!

The tumblers are perfect. The accuquilt is a good thing. I certainly love using mine. Thing of a crossed canoe project for ‘23 but who knows! Also, that leaf runner is stunning. Hooray for DrEAMi projects!

I can see why you had to drop everything to make these two projects. The fall leaves are stunning — the shape and the fabrics you used make a wonderful impact. Looking forward to seeing the table runner once it is quilted.

Love both of them!
