Eva’s SAHRR Progress
I have Eva’s SAHRR Progress to show you today. You can see my last post on Eva’s quilt here. She has had to sneak in little snippets of time to work on her quilt, as other life tasks has kept her very busy lately. For this border, Eva has pulled out some beautiful batiks to play with. She believes she won these in a previous SAHRR year.

Aren’t they pretty nestled against that Kaffe fabric? It’s always fun to see what fabric combinations Eva comes up with – she has a good eye for color. Using these batiks and others from her stash, she thought it would be easy and quick to make those log cabin blocks.

And it was, but cute as these blocks are, they didn’t satisfy Eva. She decided to try again. We’ve all been there, right? She wanted to use the same fabric for the log cabin centers as she did for the stars, but her blocks were a bit too busy when she put them next to the quilt. So she changed them up a bit and added some colors that would provide calm space for the eye. Here is a peek at her border for round 5.

A happy blend of colors and fabrics! I cannot wait to see what she does with Border 6, which is revealed tomorrow!

Ny SAHHR has grown to be larger than I anticipated, so I’m planning tocombine Round 5 & 6 to finish up. I’ll be sure to post pics of my project then.

I’ve got that Kaffe print and will be using up the last of it with the current quilt on the wall. It can be hard to figure out what to put with those prints sometimes

Karen, this fabric is funny. I ignore the light yellow or mustard colour, but if you have aubergine .. try it .. and hot pink. It is an older fabric but makes fun. The blue in it is tricky. Have fun using it.
