Fall Mini Quilts
Fall mini quilts have been the theme in my quilt room this weekend, so I thought I’d show you what I’ve made.
Remember those purples and golds from that scrap bundle?
I hope you’re not too tired of seeing it quite yet. I made a few more quilt projects with it since making the turkey.
Earlier this month I participated in the 2019 Online Quilters Meet & Greet hosted by Benita at Victoriana Quilt Designs. It’s an opportunity to meet fellow quilters in our online community that you may not know. Benita has gathered an amazing group, so it’s worth your while to stop over and visit. Plus, there’s a very generous giveaway too, so you’ll want to participate! The Meet & Greet is going on for the month of September, so you can take your time meeting each quilter.
Crows & Pumpkins
One of the projects I made this weekend was the result of reading through the Meet & Greet posts. Karen of Laugh Yourself into Stitches has some fun fall quilts in her post. I love crows, and if they are with pumpkins, all the better.
This is Karen’s PieBird pattern. Cute, huh? The potholder pattern finishes at 7 inches; I added a border so it fit the holder. It is nestled in the corner of my kitchen where it watches over me as I cook. My brother made the clipboard for me, and it works perfectly for this little mat!
Kittens and Pumpkins
If crows and pumpkins aren’t cute enough, how about a kitten and pumpkin?
This little 6-inch mini mat is a pattern from Center Street Quilts called Autumn Kitty. It is a fun, quick, paper foundation pattern. My brother made this clipboard as well, and I have this little cutie nestled on the shelves holding my quilting yardage.
With those two projects, my fall decorating is complete. Of course, there’s always the possibility that I might find another fun mini to make!
What about you, are you making any fall projects? Leave me a comment and let me know!
I did some cleaning and organizing in my quilt room this weekend too. I’ll tell you a bit more about that later this week.
Happy Monday, friends!

Adorable fall minis! The clipboards work great as mini holders.

Thank you, Cindy! The clipboards are great, and painted with chalkboard paint, in case I want to write something on them.

Cute quilts to welcome fall! Those clipboards are a great way to display minis. I noticed a lot of leaves have turned color, but I want to hang on to summer.

Thanks, Tracie! I’ve noticed that too. I’m not quite ready for fall yet either, but my decorations are up!

They are just adorable, you know how much I love pumpkins of all kinds! And fall decorating has started here, just a little last week but might do more soon;)

Wonderful little projects – I am thinking about ravens for a Halloween project…but that will be another few weeks before I get to it. You are inspiration being so ahead of the game.

Hi Wendy! I just love that pumpkin with the crow, especially how you have it in your kitchen keeping an eye on you. The pumpkin and kitty one is cute, too. Love these and we were having some Fall weather. Tomorrow it’s back to the 90s around here. ~smile~ Roseanne

Wendy, you are too quick. I probably still be thinking if I want to sew something and it will be christmas.

This is unusual for me. I blame it on the turkey. 😂😂

These are so sweet, Wendy! I’ve never seen a pieced crow before and I love it! They are among my favorite birds: glossy, sassy and whip-smart 🙂

Thanks! I love crows too!

You found some fun patterns, Wendy! These minis were perfect for your gold and purple scraps. I love the clipboards, too – what a great idea! You’ll be able to change out your minis for every season and holiday!

Thanks! Yes, I can change them out, so that will be fun!

Happy Monday. Cute quilts. They make me think of my daughter who loves crows and her black cat.

Hi Wendy, those are so cute. I’m not planning on making anything for the fall, but now I’m thinking that a squirrel might be in order 🙂

Fun patterns, Wendy. Making some minis is on my to-do list and the Halloween ones are really cute!

That fabric bundle makes me inexplicably happy…and I can’t get enough of pumpkin projects! That Autumn Kitty is so adorable. As far as fall projects go, I’m thinking it might be about time for me to draw up something in honor of cranberry season. Thanks for linking up to What I Made Monday!
