Falling For You Tablerunner
Vicki of Vicki’s Crafts and Quilting designed a tablerunner, Falling For You, which she is releasing today in her Craftsy shop.
I met Vicki through my blog, only to find out she lives about an hour from me. Since then, we’ve had some fun quilty times together, so I asked her if I could test this pattern for her. I was delighted to make my version of this beautiful runner!
Vicki’s pattern is well written, and the design is simple enough that you can start and finish the tablerunner in a day or less (if you have uninterrupted time).
All the fabrics for my runner are from my stash of batiks in blues, browns, and greys. However, this pattern is so versatile it could be done with traditional or modern prints, or even solids.
The leaves on my runner are fused and finished with raw edge applique. I used Steam a Seam Lite fusible, and a simple straight stitch around the edge of the leaves with matching Aurifil thread. The leaves can also be finished in needle turn applique, if that’s your preferred method.
You can see from the photos above that I quilted the runner with simple wavy lines. I used my walking foot and dove grey Aurifil thread. Falling For You would look great with free motion quilting or ruler work too.
The runner is a nice size, finishing at 16″ by 43″. Wouldn’t it be great for a fall table setting?
You can get all the details about the pattern and how to purchase it in Vicki’s Craftsy shop. I hope you’ll pick up the Falling For You tablerunner and give it a try. You’ll enjoy making this one!

This is such a pretty fall table runner! I like your idea of using raw edge applique, it’s a nice way to add another dimension to the leaves. This goes on my “to do” list!

Hi Wendy! Lovely finish for a lovely pattern. It sure looks handsome on those planks of your deck! And your glam shot on the table – I love the fabrics you chose. How cool that you and Vicki are only an hour apart!! Happy Friday! ~smile~ Roseanne

First of all, how lucky to find out a reader lives only an hour away!! I have a few that are nearby as well. It is such a treat when that happens.
This pattern is really lovely – the batiks you chose are perfect. I have a lot of nice fall prints. I am so tempted to hop over and grab the pattern.

Well, that didn’t take very long. I am printing the pattern as I type. 🙂
I was looking at the page over at Craftsy and saw the spot to leave a review. You should go put a review and picture of your version up there. I will do the same once I get this finished.

Hi Wendy, I love your version of Falling For You! Batiks are my favorite fabric and your choices for the runner are fantastic! Raw edge applique is my preferred method and I too use Steam A Seam Lite- I love the ability to re-position the pieces until I’m happy 🙂
How cool to find someone near you to share your passion for quilting!
Great job!
