Finally Friday
Finally Friday. This week has flown by and I have little to show for it. We got back home Tuesday evening. Wednesday came and went without a post. I played catch up the rest of the week. This post is late too. Some weeks are like that.
Quilty Inspiration is Everywhere
While we were in Milwaukee, we stayed at a Hilton Garden Inn . It was beautiful. Here’s a picture of the floor. Quilt inspiration, anyone?
It was a short stay, but I managed to get the little woolies stitched up while I was there. Now they just need finishing, which will be a backing for each and then stuffing. This is a Buttermilk Basin pattern, but I reduced the pattern by 75%. Originally, they finish at 11 inches, but I didn’t want them that large. Mine will finish about 7-8 inches.
So, what’s up for my weekend sewing?
- Get caught up with my Magnolia Mystery blocks
- Work on an improv project that’s tumbling around in my head
- Check my growing stack of orange and green fabrics to see if I’m ready to start the project I have in mind for them
- Clean my quilt room
What are your plans for the weekend?
Linking up today with Sherry of Powered by Quilting for Friday Foto Fun.

Oh yes what a great floor to be inspired with! Your woolies are super cute! I hope you get tons of sewing time this weekend.

I can’t see the floor, my browser won’t open the pic, shame. I do like your little woolies though, an I clicked through to the hotel which looks lovely too. Good luck with your weekend sewing, I will be making bee blocks I think, then I can get on with Gypsy next week, Or you never know, I might even find time to finish quilting circles. Decisions decisions.

I love Milwaukee! I used to live there back in my “hippy” days LOL – very early 1970’s – my sister and I had so much fun there we shared an apartment and it was freezing in the winter but still had a blast. Hubby and I met there 46 years ago in June – I was volunteering at the USO and he was up for a weekend from Great Lakes Navy Base – oh the memories 🙂 we got married 7 weeks later

Sounds like you’ll be starting some fun new things this weekend! I haven’t decided if I’ll start another top or get cracking on quilting up a WIP or two. DH made me a new downstairs sewing table that I need to test out before he does the final installation, so that’s exciting for me 🙂

Love that floor! You’re ahead of the game with the woolies. I have my background now for the Magnolia mystery and hope to get started on it.
