Friday Finish
Friday is here! It’s been a beautiful, quiet week with a bit more time in my quilt cave. I’ve finished my snowman mini (see my last post for a photo), and I finished this little Kim Diehl mini. I have had the top done for awhile; it’s been sitting off to the side because I’m not happy with the way it turned out. I like it much better now that it’s done, but it’s not my best work. I’m trying to remember what was going on when I was piecing it, since I clearly was having some issues. Yep, it’s been that long. Ah well, it will add a nice touch to a display.
I took a little break from piecing quilts and made this little zipper pouch for a friend’s birthday. It’s an easy tutorial from Missouri Star Quilt Company. I’m pretty sure I’ll be making a few more of these. It’s a great way to use up scraps, and makes a fun gift to have on hand.
I’m linking up today with Crazy Mom Quilts, since these two projects are finished. Woohoo!

I like the Kim Diehl piece a lot! It’s interesting to look back on an older UFO and see what we do better now, isn’t it? I started a quilt for our bed a year ago, but didn’t have enough fabric and wasn’t loving the design. I set it aside and pulled it out again this spring for the Hands 2 Help challenge and boy howdy was I amazed at how bad my piecing was! Fortunately, I was able to square up the blocks and the prints are so busy that they hide a multitude of sins. Like you, I’m happier with it now that it’s done.

Thanks, Louise! I’d like to see your quilt too. Some quilts are just learning lessons. I still love Kim Diehl’s quilts, so I’m already thinking of which one I want to make next.
