I Like Thursday
It’s time for I Like Thursday once again, where I join up with LeeAnna at Not Afraid of Color and the rest of the group who participate – we’re all listed on LeeAnna’s post, and you can find that right here. Each week, we take a little break from our usual posts and share a few things from the past week that have made us grateful, made us laugh, or just brought a smile to our faces.
This stack of quilts with prepped backings brings a smile to my face. Two of those quilts were dropped off with Connie, who will make my quilts beautiful with her amazing longarm quilting.
Other than prepping the backs, I have been sewing and I have some posts coming soon. Meanwhile, I’ve also been enjoying some walking each day. Often when I walk, I’m so focused on walking, I forget to look around. I’m trying to learn to look up and around as I walk.
On one walk, I stopped and took a quick photo of the flowers along the way.
Yesterday as I was walking, this was my view.
The photo is a bit fuzzy, I snapped it quickly and there was a breeze. What you can’t see in the photo are the lovely purple flowers along with the yellow. It was so pretty!
Receiving this bundle in the mail brought a big grin. I won this bundle from Benartex in a drawing from the 2021 Monthly Color Challenge hosted by Patterns by Jen. I haven’t decided what to make yet, but I’m definitely thinking of ideas!
And that leads us to . . .
The Weekly Wilbs
I quickly slipped the Benartex ribbon over Wilbs’ head and he was nice enough to pose for a quick photo. Seconds later, he was busy trying to get it off. Cute, though, isn’t he?
And that’s it for this I Like Thursday post! What are you enjoying today?

Ohhh! I love your little bundle you won! I’m sure something beautiful will come out of it! And Wilbs was so cute and did a wonderful job posing! I so enjoy all your blogs and pictures. Keep them coming! 🙂

What a lovely bundle you won! Can’t wait to see what you come up with. Oh Wilbs is adorable sporting the lovely ribbon.

Great stack of quilts ready to be beautified;) I think you should make project bags with that FQ bundle! A Benartex cat, haha. He could be their mascot!

Oh I love that photo of Wilbs with the Benartex ribbon around his neck!! Those are beautiful fabrics you won too. Wildflowers in ditches never fail to mesmerize me—Nature’s colours… She knows what she’s doing!

Prepping all those backings is a big job – good for you! That means some finishes are on the horizon! Looks like a really pretty place for a walk, too. I’ve tried getting pictures of fields of wildflowers in bloom, and they never come out like what I’m seeing either, but I can imagine yours. Cute Wilbs was posing so perfectly there!

Wilbur is plotting how he can kill you in your sleep. I recognize that look.

Congrats on that lovely bundle! Love the picture with the flowers and clouds…gorgeous. And Wilbur looks so sweet and innocent in that bow….instagram him and tag Benartex! He might become famous.

A wonderful post with great photos. How satisfying to see that stack of quilt tops and backs! And the flowers in the field…you do have a great place to walk. Lovely fabric for a future project. Congratulations. And Wilbs, though poised, did not look happy. Have a great week.

What a happy post filled with pretty quilts and backings. I’m afraid to show you my stack! I love the ribbon on Wilbs. So nice of him to cooperate 😉. What a fun win. Can’t wait to see what you make with it. Isn’t it wonderful to be able to get out and walk and see pretty flowers?

Thank you. Wilbs always puts a smile on my face! He does look extra cute there with his special ribbon. Meanwhile, your view is so similar to the land around here…lots of pastures and farms. We have the purple flowers all over too now and still some of the daisies. Walking is wonderful too. Congrats on your win.

Ah, it’s nice to take time to look at the flowers! Something I only glance at as I’m walking!
Your bundle from Benartex is lovely! Can’t wait to see what you make with it!
Wilbs looks great with his Benartex ribbon on! 🙂
And your pile of quilts … so nice to get the backs ready!

“… so focused on walking, I forget to look around…” Isn’t that the truth. I recently chose my newest “word” (Kind of a word-for-the-year but not waiting for the new year). “Notice.” I want to notice more, notice better, notice details, notice beauty, notice people.

Wilbs looks like a poster child cat!!! Love your photos and seeing you accomplish so much! Have a lovely weekend Wendy!

I like that hibiscus in your first photo! Wilbs looks very handsome with a bow. Love that bundle – what fun to plan how to use it. Or just pet it. 😉

Looks like you have had a lovely week — with fresh green walks and surprises in the mail. I am most impressed with that pile of prepared quilts.

I received those fabrics in 5 inch squares from the Benartex preview pack club – they are so adorable. The newsletter included a pattern to make a mat for under the sewing machine, which I may end up doing – after I have tackled some of my quilt tops too! Have a great weekend.
Quilting is in my Blood
Wilbur should be the Benartex spokescat! Pretty flowers. I need to look up and around more when I walk too. But I still need to pay attention to all the cracks in the sidewalks in my small town!

What a nice walk. I have a tendency to look down and watch where I am stepping rather than what is around me. I think that is why I do better on the treadmill to get my heart rate up and get my steps in. Congratulations on the win I am envious of that gorgeous pile of fabric. Wilbs you are so handsome with your ribbon.

wilbur is adorable, he’d be a great mascot for benartex, which made an adorable line of fabric, lucky you! The noticing what’s around you on walks is like meditating and being mindful… what a good thing to do
