Pieceful Life

I Like Thursday

Hi everyone, I am late in getting my I Like Thursday post out today, but I wanted to join in with LeeAnna and the others over at Not Afraid of Color. I haven’t gotten an ILT post writing for a few weeks!

As you can see from the opening photo, we have a lot of snow here. That photo is from a home in a neighboring town, where the owner builds a huge snowman every year. This year, Faribo Frosty is about 17 feet high, and people stop by for photos. The little board in front of him is the hashtag sign for the photo ops, #faribofrosty – if you want to check him out on Instagram. This photo was taken last week.

This morning we woke up to more snow. Here’s my view out of my kitchen window.

I’ve had a lot of sewing projects going on lately. LeeAnna wanted to know if we are list writers for today’s post. I love to write lists. In fact, I prefer working off of a list rather than a calendar, although I used a calendar more when I was raising our family and working.

I have a paper tablet with a list of quilt projects with due dates next to my sewing machine. I have a list of my UFOs in a past Quilter’s Planner that I refer back to and mark off when I finish one.

I also use my reminders on my phone as a type of to do list, and I also have a list of books I want to read in the Notes section of my phone. And I still shop for groceries with a hand-written list. I’m old school.

I just finished reading this book, which was a Christmas gift from my son. It is a psychological thriller about a woman who sees her son commit a crime, but when she wakes the next morning, it is the day before the crime happens. Can she use time travel to prevent her son from committing the crime?

The Weekly Wilbs

It’s just such a darn stressful life for Wilbs here at Pieceful Thoughts. His list is short – eat, sleep, get treats and love, repeat. Simple life for a spoiled cat!

I like Thursday, it’s a fun day to share some non-quilty thoughts with you. What are you up to today?

Wow, what a snow man!! And we had snow last night as well. Seems like that’s all it has done since Jan 1. We have had lots of snow this year but not enough for a 17 foot guy (thank the Lord)!! And look at Wilbs!! Is this a special bed or the sleeve of a sweater? Some days I feel like I need to hibernate, too. I make lists on paper and have notes everywhere for books to read, movies to watch and yes I shop with a paper grocery list.

That’s a lot of snow. We have barely an inch on the ground, but maybe something more substantial coming later today and tomorrow. I plan on sewing! I love Wilbur’s sanctuary…so wonderful to have snug spot to rest in after all that stress.

It snowed here last night…so beautiful to wake up to!
I am a list maker, and still hand write my grocery list. I feel so old when shopping with my kids…they have everything on their phones! I keep telling myself that I should come into the modern age, but old habits really are hard to change!
Wilbs has got it right! 🙂

I love that photo of Wilbs. What a wonderful cave he has to crawl into! Red, my favorite!!!!! If we could only sleep as blissfully as it looks like he is sleeping!!!! Love the snow pictures, but glad it’s your weather and not mine!!!! They are beautiful.

That snowman is just awesome! I will have to follow that IG account. Adorable pic of Wilbs. I’ve been both reading and listening to Louise Penny’s Gamache series. I’m on book 17 of 18. It’s such an addictive series!

Wilbs is a smart kitty. He obviously knows what’s important in life. Your snowy view looks just like mine but without the big snowman. You must live near Faribault MN.

Wilbs looks so utterly content, what a happy boy. I love list making and have them all over the place. From my Quilter’s Planner to monthly calendars on a magnetic board to scrap paper and post it notes… crossing things off my list(s) gives me such pleasure! Stay warm and have fun on all those projects. 🙂

Shouldn’t we all learn from cats? Wilbs I love your stretching. It is good and 100% ok to be “old school” and have hand written lists as well and using sketch books or notice books. It is often a nice little present to sew a book cover and put a note book inside and having a present. Or sewing a book … means taking paper and the cover and designing a little book as a present.
The snow man is amazing and for sure people stopp and make photos.
Real snow and cold is better than grey and rain and rain and grey. Hopefully no dangerous streets and you can get save everywhere.

Hi Wendy! Aww, Wilbs. He looks nice and snuggly warm. He may be spoiled but he’s not spoiled rotten. It is amazing to me – I shouldn’t even speak about out loud – but have no snow. This month we’ve had only had .7″ of the white stuff. I suspect we will pay the price in February and March. I am not complaining one bit! All the better to drive into work each day. Happy Thursday to you. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

I am a list girl too Wendy! My favorite app is AnyList. I uses it for grocery lists, lists of what is in our freezer, books, tv shows, movies. I can share the lists with hubby, since he does most of the grocery shopping.

I love that snow man! Wow! I too am a list maker. I am sure I will forget to do something if I don’t have a list. I put all appointments in my phone, but also on a paper calendar that hangs on our fridge. That way I will see it every day. Wilbs looks so relaxed.
