I Like Thursday #43
I’m dropping in with my I Like Thursday #43 post today, joining in with LeeAnna of Not Afraid of Color and the rest of my quilting friends who also post their likes each Thursday.
I like that all the cherries we picked have now been processed and stashed in our freezer.
I also like that I didn’t have to do any of the processing. BigJ wanted to tweak his recipe(s), so he made the mess, and I cleaned up, at least some of it.
I was fascinated with this little visitor we had last week while we were having dinner on our deck.
I believe that is a fork-tailed bush katydid. It is about 2″ long, and it moved very slowly. This was a new bug to me, so I found him/her very interesting.
I like my new orange (poppy is the color name) 9″ Fiesta plates. Using a smaller plate is better than a huge dinner plate, and the color makes me happy.
The meal wasn’t bad either!
That’s my quick list of likes for I Like Thursday #43. What’s something you’re liking this week?

How fun those plates are, they would make any meal enjoyable.

Love the dinning on the patio! Placemats are precious and fun. Dinner looks great and the wine is the topping for a relaxed evening. Happy you took time for self care.

I like those placemats under the plates – I really need to make some festive like that – I have plain white dishes – I could make them any color and be happy!

I bought some cherries yesterday. I shall think of you as I enjoy them. 🙂

I love your round placemats!

And I like your placemat, I am imagining a fruity girly drink in those glasses on it.

That poppy Fiesta plate looks wonderful with your round placemat. I still want to make a set some day. So many projects I want to make with not enough time! Have a great day, Mary.

Handsome bug! And I agree that smaller plates are good. Our salad plates fit better in our tiny dishwasher, and keep the portion sizes in check. Now I want pasta after seeing your photo 🙂

What an interesting bug….I would have thought it a praying mantis when I first saw it, but a katydid! Of course, I know the name but could not have pointed out the bug. Small plates are a help, aren’t they, and your table looks lovely.

It is interesting bug day on both of our blogs, lol! Do katydids make a lot of noise? We have something here that does, but not sure what they are – locusts, cicadas? Their noise makes you feel like you’re in the middle of Nebraska. Tell Big J we are impressed with all his cherries! The 9 inch Fiesta plates would be great to have, and that is a really pretty color. Have a great day, Wendy!

Love all the color in today’s post. The cherries are so wonderful to have in the freezer. How do you use them during the course of the year? Love the little kattydid. My grandson (in his younger years) had a dead-bug collection and would have been looking for one of those! The fiesta plate on your colorful place mat really zing!

I read this on email, but thought I might come over to comment… cherries are a fave here, love the sharp edges of the bug, and the smaller orange plate, not to mention the dinner and wine… yum…

Pasta and wine on the patio! What could be better? Only those orange plates on the round placemats! Perfect!

Cute placemat with the cheery plate, too!!!

All those cherries! They look good! (I think I’d rather make the mess than clean up.) That bug is seriously cool. Mmmm… I’m more in love with that meal than the plate. 🙂

Cool bug, love the plates and the cherries look yummy!

Your cherries look yummy! We love katydids, they are very beneficial to the garden! Hope you have a safe and happy week!

Kudos to the team for putting up all those cherries. I had to check about katydids…love that name, and yes we do have several kinds here in Ontario. Would love to see one. Your plates are perfect for your delicious looking dining there but I couldn’t help but notice those very pretty circular place mats. Your handiwork?

It is always a happy day when food is processed, frozen, stored up. It is so much work! I loved your photos particularly the grasshopped.

Hi Wendy. Your yummy dinner must have tasted even more spectacular on that pretty plate! Your Katydid is intriguing and wasn’t it nice that Big H wanted to tweak his recipe 😉
