I Like Thursday 45
I Like Thursday 45 was almost a miss – there I was, cuddled up under a quilt I was binding (not the one above, but another one), when I realized I needed to write a post! So let’s get started.
I’m joining in, as usual, with LeeAnna at Not Afraid of Color and the rest of my quilty friends who write these I Like Thursday posts. You can find the full list with links at Not Afraid of Color.
I decided it was time to upgrade my quilting wardrobe, so I bought this t-shirt. I don’t always drive fast, but I do always drive barefoot! It makes me chuckle.
On Tuesday, I spent most of the day finishing this book. I enjoyed it very much. It’s fiction, but inspired by historical events. The story focuses on the women who embroidered Queen Elizabeth’s bridal gown. If you do read it, make sure to read the author’s end notes.
I like it when BigJ stops to get me coffee when he knows I’ve run out. I like the smell of freshly ground coffee in the morning.
The Weekly Wilbs
It’s been a hot week here, so Wilbs has been more sleepy than active. I’ve been watching to try to catch a fun photo. He was snoozing on our bed, hugging a pair of BigJ’s socks. When I went to take the photo – well, you’ll see.
Thought I’d catch him sound asleep, but nothing doing! Mr. Curiosity had to know what was going on!
Just a short I Like Thursday 45, but I do hope you’ve enjoyed the read! Thanks for stopping by!
Wendy

Apart from making a quilt, there is nothing quite like a good book and a good cup of coffee.

I think I bought The Gown on Kindle or maybe I was going to. I do want to read it! I’m currently listening to Louise Penny’s A Trick of the Light for the second time.

I could use a good book, I think I’ll go check this one out.

Cats. Ya gotta love em. I like that t-shirt. I don’t have any specific sewing t-shirts, but I have several for canning; i.e., “Grab your Balls: It’s Canning Season!” It works better when you actually see the jars with their Balls label.

I have thought more and more of grinding coffee but the convenience of coffee pods is well – convenient. Your the second to mention the Gown recently – I will check it out

Love your new T! I have one that my J loves, that I mostly wear to sewing retreats – Love Machine. Hope yours makes your smile everytime you wear it. Love Wilbur – always – and the feet poking out of the quilt.

Hi Wendy! I love that t-shirt although I am NEVER barefoot unless I’m in the shower with my trusty slippers at the ready. I have that book on my Hold list at the library, just waiting for my turn. I love historical books and even fiction ones that are based on truth. Awwwwww! Wilbur. What a sweetheart. I, too, LOVE the smell of freshly ground coffee. Ummm. I’m swooning at the thought. ~smile~ Roseanne

Wilbur! Always love photos of him. That Tshirt rocks – barefoot all the way!

LOVED The Gown! Such a good story – and the way the author wove together the different storylines, too – so interesting. I’ve just started Radium Girls. That is a fun t-shirt! And freshly ground coffee – yes! Cute Wilbur – even though that wasn’t the picture you thought you were going get, it is a fun one. Have a great Thursday, Wendy!

Good Morning, Wendy … what a cute kitty photo. The book looks interesting. I am not much of a royalist but I do love books with historical settings and info. I have enjoyed watching The Crown and am looking forward to more. I think I may look for this book. Thanks … 🙂 Pat

Really like your t–shirt! But I couldn’t wear it! I drive fast (sometimes) but always with running shoes on (so I can go faster!) And you can’t surprise your Wilber!

I love that T-shirt!!!!! I don’t sew fast often, but barefoot–absolutely!!!!!! I haven’t seen that one before. Where did you get it? Thanks for the book recommendation, too.

Oh my whiskers! Wilburrrrrr! You couldn’t be cuter, and you caught me by surprise sleeping with two eyes open??? Good book and quilting… thanks for coming to and writing this! lol

Love the shirt and the book looks like something I’d enjoy; it’s a given that I’d both love AND enjoy the cat!

I like the smell of coffee brewing but don’t like the drink. I think the shirt makes a great meme. Don’t know where you got it but it is a winner. I’ve just added the book to my list … the long list of books I want to read. Wilbur is a hoot. Thanks for including him.

I miss having a cat around because how interesting and fun they are to watch. A couple of the grandsons are allergic, so no cats. I love that shirt and I think it would fit almost all of us who sew. Thanks for all your likes today!

I don’t sew fast or barefoot, so I’d have to skip that tee, but I have a number of other cute ones. We have a coffee grinder and the coffee does smell wonderful when freshly ground, but it makes such a mess. Cats do want to be the center of attention at times.

I love that t-shirt!!! And I too love local coffee. I’m generally not a subscription person, but one of our local roasteries/coffee shops started doing a subscription where they send you a bag of coffee a month and I signed right up. Love to be able to support local (tasty!) places while staying out of public!

I love freshly ground coffee too! I’m having a bit of trouble finding the correct grind and amount for my Keurig. But if it’s dark roast! Then I’m good. Thanks for the book recommendation! My reading mojo has returned in the last couple of weeks, I’m adding The Gown to my list!

I love binding….slow stitching is so very soothing! Thank you for sharing The Gown! I love historical fiction! Take care and stay safe! 🙂

Thanks for the weekly Wilbs!

Wilbur is one of my favorite felines he is so photogenic. Great likes, and yay for binding!

I’ve never been able to sew w/barefoot. Weird huh? Wilbs is so cute! I LUV the smell of freshly ground coffee too! I LUV coffee; but I’m a fairly new coffee lover. I’ve only been drinking it for about 3 years. That book is on my list!
Quilting is in my Blood
I definitely prefer to sew barefoot as well and sometimes I drive fast, but usually I have too many pins to remove! I also love me some dark roast coffee. And the pic of curious Wilbur is great—you couldn’t have orchestrated that pose if you tried! Have a great day, Mary.

A very nice addition to your stitchy wardrobe. I have problems sewing in my bare feet, I can’t control the pedal speed as well. Love the look in Wilbs eyes, he’s like “What?”. Have a great weekend.
Mary
Love the kitty photo! And the tshirt. I sew barefoot also. I had heard about the gown and the ladies who were part of it. I need to get that book. Great post.

I love curling up under a quilt while binding it and watching a flick. It is so relaxing!
I will have to check out “The Gown”. I am always looking for a good read!
