Pieceful Life

I Like Thursday

Wilbs and I have been snoozing on the job with our I Like Thursday posts. So today, we’re joining in with the rest of our I Like Thursday friends over at LeeAnna’s blog, Not Afraid of Color. While I’ve been sewing on some fun things, Wilbs has been doing a lot of napping, but having some other fun, too.

Happy Mail - piecefulthoughts.com

There’s nothing better than happy mail! I won this fun little charm pack and quilt pattern for linking a post to Kathleen McMusing’s Tips & Tutorials linky party last month. She was having a special giveaway to celebrate the 3rd year of her linky party. I shared my improv wavy curves tutorial. If you write up a tip or tutorial in your blog post, why not link it up to Kathleen’s linky on the 22nd of the month?

When I’m not quilting, I’m often nestled in my chair with Wilbs on my lap, my nose stuck in a book. Here are two I enjoyed recently.

Two recent reads that I enjoyed - piecefulthoughts.com

The Jacqueline Winspear book is the second in the Maisie Dobbs series. The Jasper Fforde book was an interesting read with a little time travel and walking into the pages of a book.

On Monday nights, if everyone is available, we have a family dinner. Our newest family member – our daughter’s dog, Tundra, is settling in well. Later in the evening, he gets a bit sleepy, especially when cuddled in his favorite person’s arms.

Speaking of getting sleepy, I got a new pillow recently. I bought one of the contoured pillows because I was waking up with shoulder pain and a sore neck. Someone else thinks the pillow is made just for him. Perhaps this is why he wants me up at 4 am!

The Weekly Wilbs

I can’t end this post without sharing one more photo of Wilbs in action. In this photo, he is doing his stretches and showing off those toe beans.

I hope you found something to enjoy in this I Like Thursday post, and I hope you enjoy your day! Feel free to pop over to Not Afraid of Color and read some of the other posts, too!

I like all the cat and dog photos! Yesterday I shopped at Pumpkinberry and there’s a new shop puppy. I would have happily packed her up with my fabric purchase and brought her home — a three-pound version of Chester!

thanks for mentioning the The Jacqueline Winspear books – I have forgotten about that author I have read some of them but not all I will need to go into the library site and look and see what is available

I would imagine Wilbs is enjoying napping while curled up in a blanket or quilt because it is so darn cold back there!! Tundra looks like he is growing!!

Oh, thanks for the picture and the plug! I couldn’t remember which pattern card I sent you….I have too many patterns, so I decided to share the wealth! Lovely to see sleeping animals, and Wilbs in action.

So Wilbs looks like he was the star of the blog today. I was looking at how well he curls into a ball and wishing I could still curl up like that. Tundra is so beautiful in that photo. Yeah for you on the win. I’d be interested in knowing how that pillow works for you.

I love how animals are so much a part of our lives. Snuggling dog and that cute Wilbur…life is good! Thanks for sharing your likes.

Hi Wendy! Thanks for the Wilbs fix. I was really missing him. I have his sweet paws/tail photo perched on your sewing machine on my computer monitor at work. He just makes me smile! Happy mail is just the best. and whatnot?!! Tundra looks so incredibly comfy . . . sleepy eyes just half heartedly keeping an eye on you . . . almost smiling but no energy to do so. Happy Thursday to you. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

Congrats on winning Kathleen’s prize! Tundra looks very content! Thanks for the book recommendations! And Wilbs … of course you bought the pillow for him! Who did you think it was for? 🙂

Wilbs would be an excellent yoga coach! I loved the Jasper Fforde books. But after a while perhaps I have to be in the right frame of mind though. Awe Tundra is going to be too big to cuddle like that soon.

I enjoyed it all! Now I have to look for those books, and what pillow did you get? DH has a lot of trouble with neck and needs a new pillow solution. If it’s wilbur approved..,
tundra has such a baby face, and I can tell how silky he must feel, and saw the chew bone remembering needle teeth of Milo. People asked if he was “going to be a standard poodle” and dh replied we think he’s crossed with pteradactyl
