I Like Thursdays #10
This is I Like Thursdays #10 – my tenth post! A small milestone for me. Each week, I try to be mindful of things that bring me joy, snap a quick photo, and share them with you. It helps me remember to be grateful and focus on the good things I’ve been given.
LeeAnna (Not Afraid of Color) is the delightful host of this fun linky party. I hope you stop over to her page and read her post, as well as the others in this fun little group. You can find their links on LeeAnna’s page.
Vanilla Latte. This is one of my favorite little treats to myself, especially when I can get it like this. It makes me feel happy, whether I’m drinking it with a friend or alone.
Homemade Minestrone Soup. Nothing beats soup on a chilly evening, and this soup is one of our favorites. I make it with meat or without, and use whatever ingredients I have on hand. Yum!
This little pie dish. Thanks to Barbara (Cat Patches) who introduced me to this little wonder. It’s just the right size for a two-person cherry pie or apple crisp. (By the way, if you don’t follow Cat Patches, you should. It’s one of my favorite blogs. A little bit quilting, cooking, and cats, with other fun tidbits tossed in.)
However, this little dish is looking a little empty and lonely. I should bake something, yes?
The first snowfall. What is it about the first snow that accumulates? It lends a freshness to the landscape, and feels like the transition from fall suddenly settles a bit and gets comfy. I enjoy sipping my coffee while I look at the view out my patio door.
This fabric. I was using a scrap of this fabric the other day, and I realized that this is one of my favorites because I like all the colors, and the different size circles add whimsey. I’m not sure I have enough left to find out the name of the fabric, but no matter. I just like it.
And that’s my I Like Thursdays #10! What are some of your likes for the week? I’d like to hear from you.

Nice likes this week–no snow here…yet, but my hands tell me that it’s coming soon…hugs, Julierose

Enjoy your view with a cup of vanilla latte in hand just as long as you keep the snow.

You are so right about the freshness of the first snowfall and watching it fall while you have a cup of coffee indoors. Snow is such a joy to watch, especially since I retired.

I love your likes! We haven’t had snow in Pennsylvania yet and I’m hoping it will wait until after Thanksgiving (we’ll see). Thanks for the head’s up about Barbara’s (cat) blog! Have a wonderful week!

I love the soups and stews that come with cooler temperatures. Snow, don’t miss it at all. We will be heading to Michigan next week, I need to find some long pants to pack.

Your hot latte sounds fabulous on this cold MN morning!! DH got to experience using the loader bucket on the tractor to move the snow off the driveway yesterday, it worked.

Good Morning Wendy! Ooh, that vanilla latte looks so good. Nice and warm and creamy with a little heart on top. That’s love in a cup right there! Minestrone soup sounds and look delicious. It is definitely soup weather around these parts. That little pie dish looks so cute and fun for making just a little dessert for two. I’ll check out Barbara’s blog and the pie dish. Happy Thursday! ~smile~ Roseanne

I love all of our snow falls as we usually only get a couple each year and they are always so pretty – it is unusually chilly this November and we already had a frost and next week to get in the teens for lows a couple nights at this rate we might get snow early.
Your vanilla latte looks so good!! I love to sit and have a cup and need to find a new place around here – the only place I knew of closed – where did you get a 2 person pie plate – I must find one – the big pie plate is way too much for 2
Barbara
Awww…thanks for that shout-out. I’m so glad you like the little pie plate. I liked mine enough to put one in the RV’s too…and now I’m adding the little mini bundt pan to both too. So…just saying. Your pie will be lonely without a little bundt cake to go with it.

First snowfalls are delightful but not as delightful when the temps are so cold!! It was 10 degrees up here in Northern MN and the edges of the lake froze. However, colder means skating time will soon be here which is a winter favorite of mine. Also nothing like a warm, toasty fire to draw me in with a book and cup of my favorite tea!
Thanks for sharing!!

Awesome likes. Cat Patches is an awesome blog and their travels are awesome! I have that tiny pie plate too it is great when you are single. Is the fabric a Kaffe Fasset? It looks familiar in some way. Enjoy your vanilla latte and the beautiful snow.

You’re making me hungry over here!?! Haha! Love the snowy photo and the fabric inspiration. Yes, being thankful.

What a fun list! I have some similar fabrics that I love for the same reason! Whimsical but not childish, tons of fun bright colors, really just great fabric (but then I think rainbow is a neutral, so I’m not sure my ideas are necessarily sound). Your minestrone soup looks delicious, my sister made a minestrone style soup for us last weekend and I loved it- I should make some soon. And yes, you should definitely bake something. You don’t want your dish to be unloved!

A vanilla latte is my drink, too! I love those coffee shops that make the cool designs with their foam. Your snow does look pretty – hope the sun comes out and melts it all today, lol! I love Cat Patches’ blog – I started following her because of her sewing and embroidery projects, but enjoy seeing those recipes, too. I haven’t tried any desserts for two yet, but I’m always tempted!

I know that secretly, you like socks, too! 🙂

I love a latte in a coffee shop with wonderful steamed milk art! I do love my bee that meets on Thursdays and love not having our first snowfall (although it may be tonight).
Sally
Yes, you must put something in that little pie dish. Then hopefully take a photo of it. 🙂 LOVE that fabric!

It always amazes me how the simple things in life bring so much joy. I enjoyed looking at your photos and can taste and smell that yummy latte!

Thanks for sharing these sweet “likes” including that yummy latte! I’ve never made minestrone soup, but I love it. Maybe someday I’ll try making some.

yes to minestrone! I need to make a pot of that here! And the cute dish, some dishes just are the exact right size. Vanilla latte, yes please. Congrats on 10! You’re a 10! And the perfect addition to our merry band of bloggers! I would like yardage of that fabric too, so if you ever find out who makes/made it I bet we could find it. Especially your PA reader… there are mighty fine fabric stores in PA. LeeAnna
ps I keep trying to sign up to get your posts by email… still can’t seem to do it

Hi Wendy, Before I forget, your Wednesday one block is gorgeous and look how perfect those points are!
Lovely view and yes the very first snow is kind of refreshing. We got ours two days ago and looks like it’s here to stay. It is definitely soup season now and Minestrone is one of mine too. Thanks for the link…I will check out Cat Patches! Always something new to enjoy!

I’m running waaaay late – it’s almost next Thursday already 🙂 I am a soup girl too, yum!!
