I Like Thursdays #15
Thanks for popping in for my I Like Thursdays #15, where I join in with LeeAnna and other quilty friends who share about things they enjoy. I’ve picked up some good ideas from them, so I hope you stop over to our host LeeAnna’s page and read what LeeAnna and the rest have to say — after you finish reading my post.
Creative Christmas Colors. I have to say I’m not sure I like these new (to me) Christmas colors, but I did find them fascinating and amusing. First the poinsettias, at a local gardening shop.
And our tree farm even grew colored trees! We decided to stay with the traditional green.
Pin Cushion Swap Fun. I’m in a pincushion swap group, and we exchange pin cushions each month. Here’s my pin cushion I received for November.
It’s the cutest little woolen pear, along with some fun, pretty fall fabric. I was delighted.
Then the other day, I received my December pin cushion. Those of you who know me will know that I love this one, for obvious reasons.
Bright orange! What’s not to love. The pin cushion is machine embroidered, not printed fabric. Pretty amazing, I think!
New Jammies. I couldn’t resist the half-off sale of these jammies. I’m particularly excited about the stripes, and now I can join the stay-in-my-jammies-and-sew-all-day crew. Plus they keep me warmer on these cold winter nights.
My kids. As I write this, my two are sitting on the couch, giggling and talking. The best sound, ever. I’m glad my two like each other.
Anything Leopard, well, almost. My daughter and I got the giggles while at Target when we came across this leopard print Christmas ornament. Yes, it came home with us. We’re going to hang it on the tree and see if anyone (meaning, the guys) notice. We figure it can always be a fun cat toy.
That’s it for my I Like Thursdays #15! I hope you stop over to the others who are joining in and see what they are enjoying this week.
Christmas is just around the corner – it’s going to be busy here with package wrapping, baking and lots of laughter. I hope to write a few more posts before the end of the year – we’ll see!

Coloured real trees, I think I’ll just keep to the green.

how the heck did they grow Xmas trees in different colors is what I would like to know! I would stick with green 🙂 and poinsettia’s in different colors too – I hadn’t seen that.

I don’t even care for the white trees let alone all the colors! Love the pear, fun shape for a pincushion. And the embroidered one is just classy.

While I love purple, I am not so sure I could do a purple tree or poinsetta. The pjs and hidden ornament are fun, but the giggling of the children – glorious.

It’s looks like you are all ready for Christmas! I think Wilbur will enjoy his new cat toy on Christmas day! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, Wendy!

Hi Wendy! LOVE, love, love this post. I can hear the giggles or I guess I should say I can imagine hearing them. And much you just love and adore that sound. Rather like the giggles in Target when you two found the leopard ornament. Oh, I’m so excited for you to have your peeps around you for Christmas. Enjoy every single second of it. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

Great post. I have seen the oddly colored poinsettias. I don’t like them. I suppose I am a traditionalist. Scratch that, I know I am a traditionalist! How great to have both your kiddos home. Enjoy every minute!! Nothing better than having the family home and enjoying cozy new pj’s too!

Wendy what a great post. That is a definite no to blue poinsetta’s or trees. Love that leopard ornament!!

I’m so out of the loop! I’ve never seen the dyed trees or poinsettias. Amusing, but…no. 🙂

wow on the colored trees! LOVE the jimjams! Sounds of kids laughing, I collect pin cushions and like orange, didn’t know you were a fan too… pugmom blogger loves leopard prints too. Fun! I know we’d have fun if we were ever in the same place at the same time! LeeAnna

Interesting trees. I swear I think they do something to the ones around here to make them blue/green looking. Love your jammies, and your kids getting along, and laughing is the best.

No, no, no on the purple and blue poinsettias and trees!!! I haven’t seen those here, but maybe I just wasn’t paying attention. 🙂 Your pincushion swap looks like fun – there are so many creative ways to make those these days. So glad for you to have both of your kids home at the same time – enjoy every minute! Merry Christmas, Wendy!

Fun stuff. Those dyed trees look too weird. Yeah, give me green trees. Pincushion swap sounds like fun. That leopard print ornament is silly!

LOL at leopard tree ornament 😀 Great likes, love your new jammies. Have a safe and happy holiday!

Colored trees are a hoot. I have red white and blue flowers around July 4th but they stain the water so I am not too excited about artificial colors. Cute Jammies though!!!

Hi Wendy, I smiled all the way through your post. Wonderful this time of year, isn’t it. I automatically wear fleece and flannel in winter; just love some of the soft cozy feeling fabrics in pj’s and pants. So I concur!
I also have a little tiny bit of leopard…the cuffs of a pair of leather gloves. But the best is your two giggling together…so right, that is fabulous. Merry Christmas from me!
