I Like Thursdays #9
I Like Thursdays #9, where a group of us post things we like that we’ve discovered through the week. LeeAnna at Not Afraid of Color hosts this group. You can find the other posts on her site as well. I invite you to read my likes, then feel free to hop over and read the other posts.
So grab a cup of coffee or tea, and enjoy my list of likes for this week.
This drive. This road takes us up to where BigJ proposed. We were a bit sad to discover that the property is now up for sale (yes, we had a less-than-serious discussion about purchasing it), so it will likely be our last visit. The road takes us up to a bluff, aptly named . . . Diamond Bluff.
This Hotel Room. The name of our room gave me the giggles. It was a quiet, peaceful night, by the way.
Sheet Pan Dinners. I’ve been enjoying trying these lately. You can find all kinds of recipes for them online. Once you get the basic idea, you can experiment and have some fun. My most recent favorite was a marinated chicken breast (cubed), roasted with artichokes, tomatoes, olives and onions. Yum — and done in 20 minutes! Love that.
Pick Stitches. I decided to try some pick stitches for a challenge quilt I just finished. It was fun and relaxing, even though I got my stitches a little too dense.
Big Bouquets of Flowers. I’m drawn to paintings or pictures of big bouquets of flowers. I was so tempted to get this one, except I had no place to hang it. So a picture, of a picture, will have to do.
Happy Thursday, friends! I hope you find many likes of your own this week!

An interesting name for a room, glad to read you had a good night rest though.

I thought so too — we thought it was strange and funny at the same time.

Sheet pan dinners…I am liking the sound of this dinner theme!
piecefulwendy
They are so easy and quick!

Your pick stitches look great and remind me of sprinkles on frosted cupcakes or donuts! Hmmm where is the pic of a pic of flowers? hehe
piecefulwendy
Flower pic has been added. Definitely was not on my blogging game when I wrote the post!

I love those pick stitches. Not too dense for me! They look perfect!

Thanks, Jan!

too bad the land went up for sale – maybe the road will still be open so you can drive it. I have not tried sheet pan dinners – I will give them a look
piecefulwendy
Do give them a look, they are so quick and easy

so sad the land went up for sale — it’s great you go back to visit your “where it all began” spot! Interesting name for a hotel room — one can conjure many different ideas from that title. Glad you had a pieceful night. I’ve not heard of pick stitches — yours look like sprinkles! Sheet pan dinners sound wonderful — gonna look that one up! Are we missing your big bouquet of flowers picture?
piecefulwendy
Yes, the picture was missing but has been added. I was asleep at the post evidently!

Hi Wendy! I’m loving your blog and I think your stitches on your quilt are just right! Love the welcome mat you made too, am having fun getting inspired by the blog! Thanks and have a great week!
piecefulwendy
Thank you! Glad you are enjoying my posts!

I like your pick stitches too. I don’t think they’re too dense. Like the name of that hotel room too. Someone with less good taste than I might say something naughty here.
piecefulwendy
Hehe — yes, I was being careful about that.
Sandra Walker
I agree with everyone on the pick stitches. LOL on the name of the hotel room!! And yeah, did you forget something at the end? Kinda like me, who used the same photo (of herself, talk about being vain right) in back to back posts. duh. 🙂
piecefulwendy
Yep, picture has been added now. I liked seeing that photo twice, by the way 🙂

My husband used to make a sheet pan dinner for me. Awe how sad your proposal spot will be sold. LOL the room name though.
piecefulwendy
At least we’ll be able to drive by and still see the property. The room name definitely made us laugh.

What a pretty landscape. I’ve not heard of pick stitches before- that’s cool.
piecefulwendy
Thanks, Mary. Pick stitches are easy; just running stitches stitched this way and that.

That is a pretty drive! I love those stitches, but haven’t tried them on anything yet. Did you used variegated thread? Can’t wait to see what you’re making there! Sheet pan dinners – I’m going to have to google that. Sounds yummy and easy – and I’m all about easy for cooking!

Sheet pan dinners–new to me–sounds like a great idea!!! And I think your pick stitches is just right! Also something new to me.

cyclone! lol. that sheet pan dinner sounds wonderful! Roasting brings out sugars in food, and I love a one pan meal. Love what I call seed stitch as it adds color and texture and is so fun to do… great job !

Hi Wendy! That path where Big J proposed looks so pretty. Will the new owners not allow access to the bluff? That’s an interesting pattern behind the Cyclone sign – looks very much like a quilting design. I have not tried one-sheet-pan dinners but they sound right up my alley. Especially for winter when I love having the oven on. Thanks for the ideas! ~smile~ Roseanne

Love the name of the room. Tin paneling is so cool! I like the pick stitches. Very colorful.

Glad your are back from the silence. I enjoy reading your posts.

How sweet to return to the place BigJ proposed. We drove by the defunct restaurant where we first met; not too long ago. I can see being tempted to buy but….what work that probably would entail…but maybe room for the picture. So many possibilities….

Your sheet pan dinner sounds delicious! I’ve experimented with them a few times and never really felt successful, but you and your artichokes convinced me to give it another try.

I love your pick stitching and I just had to google sheet pan dinners (we call them baking trays). That’s a great idea. I shall try to make some 🙂
