Making Progress
I’m making progress on my list from last week, so it’s time to check in with Texas Quilt Gal and her To Do Tuesday linky party. While I’ve been making progress, I don’t have anything much I can show you since they are all secret sewing for now.
The Endeavourers Challenge Quilt
The quilt top is almost complete, and I’m thoroughly enjoying this one. I haven’t taken any sneak peek photos yet, since I’ve been busy getting ready for the SAHRR. I’ll try to have some for you next week.
Polar Bear Plunge
I made good headway on this project, too, but haven’t taken any photos yet. I’ve been hopping between the three projects and I forget to snap photos!
SAHRR 2022
At least I can show you my center block for the Stay at Home Round Robin, which kicked off yesterday. You can read my post here. I’ll be working on this a bit more today, getting the first border on. I’m excited to see how it goes. It was so fun to hear that several of you are sewing along with us! It’s going to be a fun one this year!
The only other sewing I’ve done this week is to repair the zipper on a heavy vest (the outerwear type) for BigJ. It was not a difficult project, but I put it off for a few days. Once I got to it, it was done quickly, so I decided to repair the ripped pocket, too. I was stitching happily along (okay, exaggerating just a bit) and hit something and it broke the denim needle and jammed my machine. Yikes. Thankfully, my machine seems to be okay, but I really do need to get it in for a maintenance check soon.
So my plan for the coming week is to continue making progress on those three projects. That should keep me busy while the temps outside continue to stay in the negative numbers!
What about you? What are you stitching up this week?
Wendy

Good luck with your list! I need to get working on my Polar Bear Plunge project.

It sounds like your sew-jo is coming back! I like the photo of Wilbur’s tail across the keyboard. Glad he keeps you company — and amused. I’ll buy groceries today after a bit of sewing therapy.
Quilting is in my Blood
I’m definitely curious about your Endeavors’ Challenge and the Polar Bear Plunge project. What a fun and very Wendy-esque improv center block for your SAHRR2022 project. I’m looking forward to joining you all this year. I have my center block picked out with some coordinating fabric and I just need to pick a couple solids and I’ll be good to go to have fun with this round robin. Have a great day, Mary.

good luck with your list – I just have a short list for today

Love that improv center block!!! I’m looking forward to seeing your three different projects, Wendy! Glad your machine is okay.

Looks like you have plenty to keep you busy. I’m looking forward to seeing what you came up with for the challenge. We’re having lunch with friends today. Visiting a couple of quilt shops tomorrow. I need a sewing day…maybe sometime this week.
The Morning Latte
Well that is a fun center block! I always enjoy watching the RR’s build! You always have the fun threads sitting next to your projects…which begs the question (s): What color do you use for those multicolor blocks? Do you really use them all??

your sahrr block is a piece of modern art. By itself it would make a fine journal cover and if I saw it at an art gallery I’d buy it.

Sounds like you have several fun projects going on; when they are moving along and no photos are being taken I tend to think of that as a really good sign. 🙂

Glad your machine is ok and you are making progress on all fronts!

Hi Wendy! Progress is a great thing and who could/would ask for anything more?!! Snuggling with Wilbs while you laptop it also sounds good – he’s nice and warm, I’ll bet. Can’t wait to see what you share next week. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

Wendy I am loving that improv! Can hardly wait to see where you take it next.

Wendy you’ve worked on three projects? That’s great. You’re getting back in to your groove! Good luck with the list this week. 😉

Those repair sewing jobs are always low on my list in terms of “want to” but always a good feeling to get them done! Looking forward to seeing your Endeavourers piece and also the blog hop!

The broken needle syndrome! I had one of those because the heavy quilt got caught in it and then I had to spend time looking for the broken part!

You inspire me with your progress list. I reconnected with my sewing machine this week and am enjoying myself, stitching house portraits (since you asked!)

Sounds like you have some fun projects that we’ll all be looking forward to seeing your progress on! I would like to sew up a patriotic wall hanging, but I should go into EQ and mock it up first. If it turns out I might just have a new pattern brewing and that means I will have something for you to test in the future, if you have time.

Wendy, your modern/improv take on the SAHRR is so refreshing. I love it. I will be following along. I am glad your machine is okay. An impending snowstorm and a broken machine will drive me completely MAD!!! No exaggeration there.

Wilbs’ tail always makes me smile. My kitties like to walk on the keyboard and usually makes something go funky with it. 😉 I put off “regular” sewing for days too. Hope your machine keeps working OK in spite of the jam. Mine is making a sound that isn’t right, so I need to whisk it back to the repair guy.
Thanks for linking up to To Do Tuesday!
