Mini Mat Friday
I’m calling today Mini Mat Friday, because I’ve been cleaning my quilt room and tackling some small projects.
Before I show you the mini mats, I promised you I’d post a photo of the pincushion, front and back. Here it is.
While I was clearing through the Kim Diehl/Jo Morton fabrics used in that pincushion, I found some little 4-patch blocks, so I made two little mug mats.
After that, I started to clear the top of a dresser that holds all of my fat quarter fabrics. I came across these two six-inch blocks waiting for a binding. I often make these blocks while procrastinating about working on or finishing another quilt project. It satisfies my itch to do something different and it helps me process through why I’m putting off the other project. Sometimes, it’s just a cute little squirrel stopping by to play!
And these were also waiting for bindings.
Both sets of these will be used to switch out with the acorns on my kitchen wall. I now have two sets of pineapples, a set of acorns, and hearts. I should make pumpkins, turkeys and Santas, don’t you think?
That’s my quick mini mat Friday and finish for the week.
Linking up today with Sarah at Confessions of a Fabric Addict, Sandra at MMM!Quilts for TGIFF, and Tish at Tish in Wonderland for the UFO Busting Party.

I think you should have at the very least pumpkins and santas. Cute sets!

Hi Wendy! I do think you should absolutely make some pumpkins and Santas and maybe a snowman. And while you’re at it, through in some tulips or other Spring flower that you love and call it a day. Everything you shared is so cute! ~smile~ Roseanne

These are the perfect way to display our quilting for each season and still doesn’t take up a lot of room to store! Cute, cute, cute:)

I am inspired to tackle all the snippets in a pile on my sewing desks. Cute little pieces from leftover. Happy Friday.

Love you mini mats! The pineapples are adorable! I find it rewarding to use lingering blocks in something every once in a while. Once the inspiration hits…there’s no holding back!

Your minis are all so cute and fun! I love making things like that, and it looks like you cleaned up several “orphans” that way, too. The little pineapples are especially fun!

You may call them small but they are big on beauty and attitude. Love each one of them!!! Have a great weekend.

Fabulous wee minis! I especially love the pineapples. Funny, I can see you cleaning up, stopping, sewing for an hour, then going and cleaning some more. Man, those squirrels! And I like how you describe why you make these little blocks, so true. Thanks for linking up with TGIFF!
