Monthly Color Challenge

Jen over at Patterns by Jen is hosting the 2019 Monthly Color Challenge. Each month she gives us a color and a block pattern to make. This month’s color was red orange, and you know I love that color.

The fabrics I used were leftover pieces from my Wayward Transparency quilt. The print fabric was the quilt back.

Here are the other blocks for January through June that I’ve made for the challenge.

My July block. I love that swirly Island Batik fabric for the background.

BigJ calls this my psychedelic quilt; it’s one of the few quilt projects I’ve done that he has actually said he didn’t like the blocks. So I probably won’t be putting this quilt on our bed. Haha!

So I’m all caught up, and waiting for the September Monthly Color Challenge block. I wonder what the color will be? Any guesses?

Linking up with Jen at Patterns by Jen today.

Enjoy your weekend, friends! Hope it’s a quilty one!

I think the blocks are stunning! Brian thinks my recent quilt is psychedelic…he’s not a fan of the colors, so it’s funny to ask what he thinks. “You’re doing a great job.” Haha — this will probably become my reading quilt. How big are your blocks? How large will the finished quilt be?

I love the speckled orange in the center of your block. Feels great to be caught up doesn’t it and a couple days to spare, LOL

Hi Wendy! Love these fabrics and the block. I think your quilt is going to be great – I love all the great colors together. I already know what next month’s color is . . . but won’t spoil it for anyone. Enjoy the long weekend! ~smile~ Roseanne

Just caught up on your posts, Wendy. Boy Blue piece was so beautiful and that aqua batik with swirls block is gorgeous. What wonderful piecing. I try to have one bouquet from the garden each week of the summer and I try to choose things the bees and butterflies don’t like. Your bouquet is beautiful. Summer is so special.

Well, I love the way it looks – and they are a bit psychedelic but whats a girl to do. It happens sometimes. But, maybe take the pictures into eq8 and do a diagonal set with lattice and a stunning border and who knows what you will have. My DH often says “I am not sure where you are going with this” and then loves it when it is done. And, maybe it just becomes a rainbow, child’s comfort quilt and that is fine too!
