One of Everything
One of Everything is the phrase that came to mind around 5 am as I was dream thinking about the first prompt – One – for Persimon Dream’s 2023 Project Quilting Challenge. I had an idea of how to put that into fabric, but would it work?
I did some quick tracing and fusing, and soon I was ready to put the quilt together.
Rather than fuse the one to the background fabric, I spray basted it so that I didn’t have as much fusible to sew through. I just wanted to see if that would work. Once the quilt sandwich was ready, I just did some straight line quilting, and added the binding.
One of Everything is a bit like those wordplay puzzles. I just wanted something simple and graphic, and I think I accomplished that. It was fun to see if I could make my idea come to life. The finished size is 10″ x 10.5″.
This is my second year of participating in Project Quilting. If you’re interested, here are the links to my last Project Quilting posts from two years ago:

Are you joining in, too?

Super cute, Wendy!! I need something fast, too, but inspiration has yet to strike.

As my husband likes to say “It’s poy-fect”! That was a really good idea Wendy and nicely executed.

I saw that first prompt, but couldn’t think of a thing to do for it, so good for you! Did you like using the spray basting instead of more fusible? That sounded like a good idea to me. There are multiple places where I could go and just say, “One of everything!” The quilt shop is probably one of them! I have participated in Project Quilting, but not for a couple years.

Love it! Love how your mind works, Wendy…always fun to see what you are up to! 🙂

Oh, that is super fun! How did you feel the spray basting worked overall (from my perspective it looks great); did it seem like the applique held / stayed put where you wanted it to?

Simple and graphic it is! I love your interpretation. And, not a surprise to see that green in the mix.
