Pieceful Monday
In today’s Pieceful Monday post, I thought I’d show you a little review of the blocks of the month I’m working on, and a little peek at my current project.
Starting Small
Remember that little peek I gave you awhile ago of that tiny little paper pieced block? I can finally show you the front of the block, since it’s been given to my sister-in-law (she liked it).
Here’s the photo I posted, with a thread spool by the pattern so you can get the idea of the size.
And here is the front.
It was a little kit. All the fabrics were cut and ready, so it was done pretty quickly. The mat was provided in the kit. I could have bought a frame, but I thought I’d let my brother make one.
Moda Blockheads 2
I wanted to see all of my Blockheads blocks together so thought I would share them with you. I’m happy with all of them except the one on the bottom right. That one will be redone; it’s a bit too dark.
I think we are about halfway through the blocks now. Two of the current blocks, 25 and 26, are missing from this group because I haven’t made them yet. The largest block (upper center) measures 24″. The four on the sides of that block measure 12″. The flower block is 6″ x 24″ and the little blocks finish at 6″. I’m using Kim Diehl and Jo Morton fabrics in my stash. This is going to be a big quilt!
Gypsy Wife
I have completed all of the large blocks for my Gypsy Wife quilt, Now I can work on the filler blocks and begin to complete the sections. I am really having fun with this project. Not only do I get to work on it with friends, but I get to dig into my scraps and see what I can come up with!
Fireburst Mystery Quilt
Here is my completed Fireburst Mystery quilt top. This mystery QAL was hosted by TishnWonderland. I have enjoyed participating in this with several of my quilty friends!
All of my fabrics for this quilt came from Bernie at Needle and Foot. The fabrics are actually brighter than in the photo. I had a difficult time getting the right background and lighting to show the true colors.
A Sneak Peek
I did a little practicing for the quilting on my latest project. I really enjoyed this design, and I think it will work well for the project! This is all I can show you for now. The reveal of this project will be for the Art with Fabric Blog Hop. My day to post is November 8th. I hope you’ll stop by to see what I’ve made. Fingers crossed that it turns out, but I am having a blast working on it!
Today I’ll be working on facing my Autumn Drive quilt. Wednesday we are heading up north, so I want to take it along for a photo shoot, just for fun. I might be snapping photos in the snow!
What are you working on this week?
Linking up today with Beth at Cooking Up Quilts.

Hi Wendy — your pineapple block is amazing — so teeny tiny! All of your other projects are beautiful. Looking forward to your mystery reveal – your practice quilting looks great!

Nice job on the quilting!!! And that mini-mini log cabin block turned out beautiful. Well, all your projects look great! It’s fun to see a bunch of them in progress.

Thank you, Nancy! I’m enjoying them!

Your paper-pieced block looks great. I’ve done a similar quilting design. I really like what you’ve done there. Lots of fun stuff in this post.
piecefulwendy
Thank you!

That paper-pieced block is wonderful – definitely tiny! I love it in the matting, and it will be fun in a frame and hung somewhere special. Your other projects are really moving along, too!
piecefulwendy
Thanks, Diann! I think it will look great framed!

Hi Wendy! I love that lineal quilting on your secret sewing, and that paper pieced block!! Holy moly – that is really stunning finished. Blockheads are coming along nicely and I am really enjoying seeing your Gypsy Wife. I love all the different colors in those blocks. ~smile~ Roseanne

Thanks, Roseanne!

I LOVE how your Fireburst has come together! I can’t wait to see it all quilted and bound. The Pineapple Block for your sister is beautiful but those had to be some super small pieces. I love the way it is matted and framed.
piecefulwendy
Thanks, Tish! It went together so well! I’m excited to quilt it, so I’m pondering designs 😊

Can you tell me where you got the pineapple block kit? You did a fantastic job on it!
piecefulwendy
I can get that for you, Sandy, when I get home later today. 😊
Nita Schultz
I don’t just “like” my little pineapple quilt—I LOVE it!!! Thank you my dear sister-in-law!!! You are the best! So proud of you and your blog! We spoke to a guild in Litchfield tonight and your brother very proudly shared your blog address! Way to go! Love ya!
piecefulwendy
Aww, thanks! You two are the best!

That’s a great amount of progress over quite a range of things. But I have to specifically add to the chorus about how great your pineapple block is. My brain does not want to accept that that spool is normal size!
piecefulwendy
Yes, it was a tiny one! Haha! Thanks!

It’s hard to imagine a block would be so tiny if you hadn’t included the thread. All I can say is you must have a lot of patience.
piecefulwendy
Thanks, Kate! I think I just enjoy a challenge! 😊

OK, I do not have any wisecracks today. You have completely floored me. Love the blockhead blocks, love the Gypsy Wife blocks but the quilting has had me awestruck. This round goes to you. You rock!!!
piecefulwendy
Thanks, Preeti! You need to try that quilting design 😊
Tami Von Zalez
What a great idea to do the big blocks of the Gypsy Wife. That sounds like a manageable plan. That pattern is on my bucket list.
piecefulwendy
Thanks, Tami! We’ll see how it plays out. 😊

Isn’t Starburst a great quilt? And that circuit board FMQ thing is looking great; it’s a fun one. Will be watching for Nov. 8!
piecefulwendy
Circuit Board! I like that name 😊
