Pieceful Monday
One of my projects this weekend was making some kitty blocks, requested on Instagram by a woman whose young daughter passed away from the flu. She is collecting blocks for quilts to support the charity set up in her daughter’s honor. The 6″ blocks go together so quickly, and the pattern is free, so I’ve enjoyed pulling from my scraps to make them. I’ll make a few more before I send them on their way. If you would like to make some, let me know in the comments and I’ll give you further information.
A few more blocks were added to this stack of blocks for the Carolina Hurricane Block Project. I will be presenting this project to our quilt group and hope to have some participation for making more blocks.
I made this infinity scarf with a half yard of Cotton & Steel Menagerie rayon fabric that I purchased on a sale. The fabric is soft and lovely.
I’m not even going to tell you how long it took me to make it. Sometimes I can make the simplest project difficult.
Meanwhile, I’ve been designing some little 6″ quilt blocks for my brother and sister-in-law’s shop. I have enjoyed that quite a bit, but I can’t show them to you yet.
The scrap slashing is still going on. My 5 inch charm squares are done from this batch of scraps. Up next will be 4-1/2 inch squares. I was feeling pretty accomplished with that task, until I looked over at the three other drawers of scraps. This may take me awhile.
Art with Fabric Blog Hop Starts Today
On Thursday this week, I’ll finally be able to show you my Art with Fabric quilt. It is presently hanging in our kitchen area, and I love it.
The blog hop starts today, so click on the photo for the full schedule.
See you Thursday!

Those kitty blocks are very sweet. But so sad about the reason for making them. Can you send me more information? I lost a friend to the flu last year. She was in her 40s, but her mother grieves, too.

You’ve been busy with lots of good things! I’m planning to make blocks for Carole, too – I’d better get on that. I’ll look forward to the Art with Fabric blog hop!
