Pieceful Monday

It’s Pieceful Monday once again, and this weekend had me tucked in my quilt room, busily organizing fabric. I did take a break from it to make a quick block and a cat toy, but more about that in another post.

I’m enjoying my new quilting space, discovering fabric I had forgotten about, and thinking about how fortunate I am to have a roof over my head, a bed to sleep in, family that loves me, and so many good things that make life comfortable.

So, with that in mind, I want to join with Carole at From My Carolina Home in asking for help in gathering quilts for those in need in the Carolinas as they recover from the hurricanes.

More than 4500 quilts are needed for those whose homes were completely destroyed. Here’s how you can help:

Donate

There are several ways you can give help. You can find all the information on Carole’s blog here. I’m encouraging our quilt group to make blocks, and I hope we will have enough to make a quilt to donate. The quilt drive will go until the Summer of 2019, so you have time to join in by donating a quilt top or a completed quilt. Completed quilts should be bed sized.

If you want to donate a quilt top, Carole can connect you with a longarmer who can finish your quilt. Please go to Carole’s blog for further information and find the form to fill out.

If you are a longarmer and want to help complete quilt tops for this quilt drive, Carole has information on her post for you too.

These are the blocks I’ve made for the quilt drive. I’ve already received a few more from my quilt group.

I’m always amazed at the outpouring of support the quilting community gives to those in need. Please consider giving a family a little bit of love by donating a quilt.

Stop over to From My Carolina Home. All the information, and a very touching story from one quilt recipient, is at Carole’s site. It’s worth taking a moment to read.

Happy Monday, everyone! On Wednesday, I’ll introduce you to the newest member of our family!

Wendy
