Pieceful Monday
I have just a few finishes to show you on this pieceful Monday. Nothing new, you’ve seen the quilt tops. Well, most of them.
The little Scottie Dog doll quilt is quilted and bound. This quilt is small, just 21 inches square. Just about every morsel of that Scottie Dog fabric, and I had to get a little creative to get it to 21 inches. A little simple quilting through the Scottie fabric with red Aurifil thread, and it was time to bind.
This fun bird print from my stash seemed like a fun backing. I used the remainder of the solid red for the binding.
If you recall from my last post, I made a few hospital gowns. One of them was a lizard print, which many of you liked. I was able to make a simple doll quilt with that fabric as well.
Using this blue 30s print from my stash for the backing, I did simple diagonal quilting through the blocks. The binding is another blue fabric from my stash.
Here’s a photo of the little hospital gown.
For now, that wraps up my bundle of items that will be sent to A Doll Like Me. I’ve made 5 hospital gowns and will be sending along 3 doll quilts.
Star Crossed Love Quilt
Star Crossed Love is a quilt pattern recently designed by Jedi Craft Girl. Her pattern is so well done; it went together very quickly. While her quilt used white fabric for the background, I chose to use creams so that it will blend a bit better with my decor.
Wilbur thought he’d help hold down the quilt.
For the backing, I found this piece of Pat Sloan fabric that I have had in my stash for years. I made a quick stop at a quilt shop this weekend and found the binding fabric. Other than that, all of the quilts in this post are made from my stash. I’m kinda happy about that!
We are in for more snow today and tomorrow, so you know where I’ll be. I’m going to try to finish a UFO this week. How about you? What are your quilting plans for the week?
Linking up today with Beth at Cooking Up Quilts.

I think Wilbur is just trying to tell you he loves you. And your Star Crossed Love quilt. He’s got good taste.

Hi Wendy! Aww, that shot with Wilbur is so darn cute. He looks so little sitting there. All of these finishes are fun and fabulous. I especially love the lizard gown and matching doll quilt – although all of them will be well love and appreciated. I also adore the fabrics you chose for Star Crossed quilt – it’s beautiful. Ugg, more snow here too. ~smile~ Roseanne

My Sewful Retirement
Hi Wendy, all of your projects are fantastic! I love the colors in your star crossed quilt — I may have to add that pattern to my “to do” list. Sorry to hear more snow coming your way — what a bummer! I pulled out a UFO from last year — hope to get it quilted and bound this week 🙂

You’ve been very busy! Sweet little quilts. I like the charity A Doll Like Me. Follow her pictures on Facebook and Instagram. It’s a precious service she’s offering, and I love seeing the kids with their dolls.

Keep warm and carry on sewing!

So many cute things for A Doll Like Me! Thank you so much for the donations Wendy – each one is perfect. I love the bird fabric you have as a backing. Really fun choice!! I am organizing projects to take with me to Vermont when I go – Actually, I think I will box up a bundle of projects and sewing supplies and mail them. It is less expensive then checking them – which I would have to since I need rotary cutter, scissors etc.
Take care and stay warm.

Thank you, Bernie! Enjoy Vermont!

Your hospital gowns and matching quilts are just adorable! What fun for the little one who receives them! Love the Star Crossed quilt, too – such pretty colors. I’m just getting started on this week’s hand-pieced block today. Fingers crossed it goes smoothly!

Thanks, Diann!

Wonderful quilts! I have always loved that lizard fabric and the doll quilts are just wonderful. I have to start doing some of those quick things – need a little more down time – not gonna get it until after QuiltCon!

Thanks, Kathleen!

Beautiful finishes! I love the Star Crossed Love Quilt. Wilbur looks like a professional cat model 🙂 The little doll quilt matching the gown is adorable. I’ve made one gown so far and have a few more cut out. Question…how did you deal with the seams on the inside?
piecefulwendy
Thanks, Tish! I press the inner seams open, if that helps.

Kudos on finishing, Wendy!!! Your birds have attitude – they must take after you :- p The hospital gown is sweet as is the matching quilt. Hope you are staying warm.

Thanks, Preeti! I don’t know if it’s attitude, or if they look more like me before my morning coffee!
