Pieceful Monday
I’d hoped to show you a finished quilt or two on the Pieceful Monday, but my sewing mojo has apparently taken an extended vacation to warmer climes. While I’m trying to coax it to come home, here’s what I’ve been fiddling with.
Island Batiks
I was fortunate to win scraps of Island Batik fabric from Carole Lyles Shaw during the Island Batik Ambassador Getaway Blog Hop. Look at these “scraps”! Aren’t they gorgeous?
I was pretty eager to begin playing with them, and then all my energy left. I got this far.
If I just stop now, this would be a little 16-inch mini. I’m undecided whether I’ll keep going. If I do, not sure what I’ll add, but I have some ideas.
From Brights to Darks
Then I pulled out these little blocks and finished sewing them together.
I’m still working on a layout for these, and haven’t even taken any photos!
Put a Little Heart In It
I whipped up these little heart blocks to hang in my kitchen, if they get done before the month is gone.
I nearly quilted the little fabric life out of these two little blocks, my thoughts wandering and distracted as my machine hummed along. My quilting wandered too. Thank goodness they will be high up where they can’t be closely examined once they are finished.
Whlie waiting for my mojo to return, I’ve been reading, taking naps, cuddling with Wilbur and wishing for Spring.
If you happen to see my mojo, tell it to come home.
Happy Monday, all! Tell me what you are working on.
Wendy

Your little mini would make a lovely bright cushion cover, always useful in my house as my four legged girls have been known to chew them! If you do find your mojo have a look around to see if mine is anywhere about, I sure do miss it.

For someone who has mislaid their sewing mojo, you have been pretty busy! Sometimes one just needs to take it easy

I hope you get your sewjo back soon. Mine had an extended leave but has finally come back.

Even for feeling mojo-less, I think that’s pretty good progress. I love where those beautiful scraps are heading. Even if they have found their stopping point, it’s a winner!
My Sewful Retirement
Hi Wendy, love the batiks! I’ve started lots of projects recently mostly mini quilts learning new techniques. This week is busy — friends coming to visit – so not much time to finish anything 🙂 Hope your mojo finds they way back home ♥♥

sewing mojo, come back!!! I like that you are at least sewing a little bit still! It’s hard when your mojo goes away for a while

I hear you about winter even though our winters are so different – I find I have slowed down a bit this winter too – those are nice fabrics that you won

Nice, Wendy! You have mojo going here and you don’t even know it. It’s the weather. Fortunately February is the shortest month of the year. I love where your batik project is going. Cute hearts, too.

I love batiks. Beautiful fabrics.

I know how you’re feeling since I felt the same way recently but happy to say my Sewjo is back. Hope you find a new project to inspire good sewjo and maybe Wilber can help you.

You still got some sewing done so your mojo isn’t totally missing 😁

Sometimes when my mojo is missing, a few little bits of patchwork here and there are the best thing for it! I love the blocks you’ve been making out of your Island Batiks win – pretty colors! I’m just about to go pick out the fabric and cut the pieces for this week’s hand-pieced block.

I tthink you are doing great for not having any mojo!!! Keep it up … just go sew ONE seam … that’s all you need to do … ONE … it might lead to 2 … then in another hour or 2 go sew ONE more …
Hope your mojo returns soon!
HUGS!

Looks like you had at least a little bit of mojo! Some weeks are big and productive, others are more quiet and subdued. It’s all good 🙂

What lovely Island Batik scraps! I like what you’ve put together. It would make a nice small autograph quilt or cushion. I hope your sewjo comes back soon!

That’s a good deal of sewing for someone lacking in mojo! I love your heart blocks and the batiks are looking good. I finished a quilt that I can’t blog about and I’ve been working on some TAST stitches but mainly I’ve been cutting brambles…

My Mojo is moody. It wants me to have an entire day to give it undivided attention. If I am able to be home all day with no errands my mojo celebrates. Unfortunately I spend too many days having to go out, then sitting with a cup of coffee and petting my puppy when I get home. HE needs my attention too! lol

Hi Wendy! You’ve got some different projects going on there. It’s like nothing really catching your fancy, so you’re flitting around. That’s okay – you’re mojo will be back in full force once you find just the project to inspire you. You need another DrEAMi project! That’s the ticket. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

Where is that mojo???? I hope it comes back soon. Music … sewing somewhere else beside in your studio? trying to think of ideas… I think you should do more on your mid century modern stuff – you knocked that out of the park.
