Pieceful Monday
Pieceful Monday today is about an apron, and some tiny blocks. Remember the apron I received as a gift at our quilt group Christmas party?
This kit is from Fabric Editions, although I cannot find it on their site. I opened it to discover that the entire apron was a preprinted panel. I just had to cut around the pieces and sew. Thankfully, the fabric was square and the printing was fairly true.
Once I began sewing, it went together quickly. The fabric is a lightweight cotton. Had I started just a bit earlier in the afternoon, I would have finished it easily. I left the ties until Sunday afternoon. Once those were sewn on, it was time to snap some photos.
I don’t feel that the apron fits me well, so no modeling. BigJ did say he thought it looked good on me, but that didn’t convince me. I opted for the apron hanging on a hook.
It was difficult to get a decent photo, so maybe I can have my daughter model it when she comes home for Christmas. I spread it out a bit, for a better look at the front.
Other than that, I’ve been sewing along with Temecula Quilt Company’s Tiny Tree project. Here are my Blocks 1-4.
These are tiny blocks that are 2-3/4 inches. We’re only 5 blocks in, and they are simple to make. Join in!
That’s it for my Pieceful Monday here at Pieceful Thoughts.
What did you sew this weekend?

Small blocks sound like fun, I just more time to get everything done I need to do.

The apron came out beautifully–I love a good apron with L o n g ties.:))
Those little blocks are adorable, too…nice work.
I began making Christmas place mats from my squares…hope to finish them today….

The apron is beautiful and so are you blocks!

I keep thinking of making an apron pattern from the one that I wear all the time to have a second and keep doing other things instead

Me too! I have been wearing the same apron for literally over 30 years!! I keep thinking I will trace it and make a new one but it hasn’t happened yet!

Hi Wendy! I am certain that Big J is correct and the apron looked great on you. The fabric is sure cute. Do you wear an apron often? I do not but I have a kiddo one for Dominic and/or Addison. I’m anxious for them to learn to bake with me. ~smile~ Roseanne

We are our own worst critic. It is crazy how hard it is to post pictures of myself. I am so harsh when I look at them! I am sure it looks lovely Wendy but I also get your hesitations.
The small blocks are so sweet. Too many fun things and wayyy too little time!! I guess that is why I enjoy everyone’s blogs. Vicariously making all these things by reading about them.

Your apron is cute! I love the plaids together. I like your Tiny Tree blocks, too – I’ve been enjoying making them, but those pieces are small and fiddly! I might redo my log cabin one – it turned out really wonky. Happy Monday, Wendy!

A panel! How handy! Love the tiny blocks. I sewed a store sample of Meadowland at our store retreat over the weekend. Now for some backing and batting, etc.

I like the hanging apron photo. It reminds me of a farmhouse scene.

Aw, I love this apron and I am sure it looks terrific on you. The tiny piecing looks like fun. I quilted two tablerunners, got a top made and one in the works. Busy but one deadline is coming up so time to focus on that this week!
