SAHRR Final Border
Today is the day to share my SAHRR final border for my Round Robin quilt. The weeks have flown by, and it has been really fun to see all of your creative borders for your quilts. I’m a bit sad it’s coming to an end! If you’ve missed my earlier posts, here’s a quick little photo review of each border.
And that leaves us with Border 6, which is our SAHRR final border. Quilting Gail is our host today, and she has chosen the pinwheel block for our final border.
I decided to add four more square in a square blocks to this border, too, just for something a little different. My pinwheel blocks finish at 3 inches. With the addition of the green coping borders, my quilt has grown quite a bit. The top finishes at 54 inches.
And now it’s your turn to get busy making your pinwheel blocks for your final borders. I cannot wait to see what you come up with! But just a few things before you go:
Make sure you go visit Quilting Gail, not only to see her progress on her quilt, but also to find out more about the SAHRR parade on March 13th, prizes, and all that good stuff! Gail has done all the work of putting this fun quilt along together, including finding sponsors for all the prizes you have a chance to win! Thank you, thank you, Gail, for a fun quilt along!
Stop by each of the co-hosts, too, and see their final borders – you just might find some inspiration as you begin your work this week! Here they are, just click on their link to their site.

It really did grow up didn’t it! At times when I look at it I feel like I am looking down a tunnel and the robin is at the very end!

Pinwheels are the perfect final block! I love how your last border came together, Wendy. The bright colors of the blocks mixed with your gray background make a very pretty quilt!

Very nice.
I was trying to choose my favorite parts. I love the spools near the center and the pinwheels near the edge best.

The final round is on and it looks great Wendy. I hope you have enough of the green to use it to bind. Your quilt top is wonderful.
Yvonne @Quilting Jetgirl
54″ square is a great size for your finished quilt. Looks fantastic! Do you have enough of the green left to bind it with?
Brenda @ Songbird Designs
I love everything about it, Wendy!

Wow, finsihed…. Champion…. And so much harmony. The pinewheels are very good for the last round. Was afraid what will come. I think all colours can be used in the binding, I love to sew in one colour binding small pieces of all colours. I am sure The birds will come soon and sing and your snow goes away! Have a wonderfull week!

I’m a little sorry this over, too. I’ve loved seeing these quilt tops come together….not only yours but all the participants. I do like how you’ve made your last border and I hope we see the finished quilt in the not too distant future. What color of binding will you use?

What a beautiful, happy quilt.

I really like your colorful pinwheels. Your borders showcase the robin beautifully. I’ve started on my pinwheels and am really enjoying making this last border.

So fun to see the steps all together. It has turned out very cute and cheery. What are you thinking for the binding? Something to give it a little pop? Or thinking the cheeriness pops all on it’s on and going with the green?

The additional Square in a Square blocks were a great way to finish off your Pinwheel borders, Wendy!

Your SAHRR quilt is absolutely beautiful! The colors are great together, and I especially like the way you left spaces of the grey background fabric between the different elements of each border. It really gives some breathing room and keeps the whole thing from looking too busy. I love it!!
