SAHRR Round 6

Well, here we are, ready to reveal the SAHRR Round 6, the final border for our Stay at Home Round Robin quilts. Today’s host is Chris Knits, and she’s chosen a great block for the final border! You’ll want to pop over, read her post, and see her gorgeous quilt today. Then make sure you go back to her site to link up when you have your border added to your quilt so we can all get a chance to see it. I think the variety of quilts this year is really fun!

Chris has chosen the shoo-fly block for the final round of our SAHRR 2022 quilts. The shoo-fly block is a quick little block to make. I was particularly delighted that I could make all of my blocks from left over scraps from my other borders. While I still have negative space in this border, I did space my blocks a little differently this time so it looks a bit more like a full border (or maybe I’m just kidding myself).

Initially, I had a really cool idea for the final border, so I took off sewing. About halfway done, I put it up on the design wall. It didn’t gel with the rest of the quilt. Rats. No worries, I just went with Plan B and it fit the rest of the quilt so much better. Would you like to see it?

I apologize for the photo. My quilt top is 50″ square, and I’ve outgrown my wall space for photos, so I had to resort to my closet doors! Anyway, you can see how I placed my shoo-fly blocks. This was such a fun quilt to make, I’m a little sad that it’s all pieced. It’s now in Connie’s hands, and I know she’ll work some amazing magic with the quilting!

Okay, it’s your turn to add your SAHRR Border 6 to your quilt! I’ll be waiting to see your lovely quilts!

Wendy
