SAHRR Round One
Happy Monday! It’s time to reveal the SAHRR Round One for this week. Anja Quilts is the host for today, and you can find her post here. Anja has chosen curves for the first border. Curves are one of my favorites, so let’s take a look at my border.
I chose to go with a gentle wavy curve border, and added curved setting squares. All of this was done with just my rotary cutter, no templates or rulers. I’m very happy with the way it turned out.
I learned how to cut my wavy curves from Jean Wells in one of her books. You can find her method on YouTube by searching “improv curves Jean Wells”. I may write up a tutorial on my method, so watch for a future post.
Don’t let curves scare you. Be creative when thinking of how you can add curves for this border. I look forward to seeing what you come up with!
Don’t forget that Anja is hosting the linky party for the SAHRR Round One this week. You can see all of the host blogs linked up there. Be sure to link up your post when you reveal your Round One border!
Happy sewing, all!

I love your corner units!!! The one in the lower left looks like a sunset. These solids are so bright, this is a very fun quilt.

Good morning, Wendy! Your improv piece is really turning into something very cool. I love the addition of the curved borders but the curved setting corners knock it out of the park for me. Great job! I can’t wait to see where this is headed. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

I love this, Wendy! The curves frame your center block perfectly. It’s so fun to look forward to Mondays because of the SAHRR posts, but now my head is full of ideas… I can’t wait to get to my sewing room!
