Santa Fe Block 3

I’ve finished my Santa Fe Block 3 for the sew along, Pieces of the Santa Fe Trail hosted by Melva Loves Scraps. Are you sewing along, or reading Melva’s posts as you follow along? I thought it fitting that I once again use this photo, recently taken as we drove along a portion of the old Santa Fe Trail on our way to Santa Fe. A ribbon of asphalt to follow – but imagine just a wagon wheel path and being one in a long line of wagons slowing moving along. Read more from Melva’s post, here

Unlike my last two blocks for this sew along, which you can read about here , I wasn’t able to take any photos on location for this block, but I can certainly relate to the seemingly endless miles of the Santa Fe Trail! For that reason, I chose fabrics that had a bit of a sun-beaten, weathered look for my Block 3.

This block went together quickly; choosing the fabric took the longest amount of time.

Here are my three blocks, so you can see them together.

I hope you take a minute to pop over and read the next excerpt of the Santa Fe story on Melva’s site. It’s an interesting one! Of course, you can join us and sew up the blocks, too!

Happy Trails!

Wendy
