Sweet Pea Quilt Finish
I finished my Sweet Pea Quilt top back in June.
This fun pattern was designed by Cindy over at Stitchin’ at Home and is called Outside Stars. It is a foundation paper piece pattern, and is fun to make with all the movement in the quilt.
I got Sweet Pea back from Connie the other day, and she has worked her magic once again.
Here’s a close up of the fun quilting design.
And a photo of the backing and binding. The backing fabric is a yellow stripe that’s actually a golden butter yellow. It’s so bright abd cheerful.
My quilt finished at 44 inches square. It will soon be on its way to my daughter, who will be gifting it to a friend who is expecting a baby.

A very sweet quilt for a baby girl! It reminds me of an afghan I made when I was a youngster, it was lime green, pink and white. Can’t wait for Friday!!!
piecefulwendy
You’re still a youngster 😉

Well, I love your Sweet pea quilt. Very cute. Green and pink go so well together. I’d love to join in the QAL’s, but I’m being stodgy about finishing up the projects I have going…unusual for me, but I really want to finish them. They’ve languished way too long, and I’m tired of them. Next year I’ll be able to chase after more squirrels.

You are being so disciplined! Good for you! Glad you like Sweet Pea!

Hi Wendy! Sweet Pea turned out so pretty, didn’t she?! Aww, I can just picture a little sweet pea all bundled up in it. That little baby will feel all the love you stitched into it for sure! Are you just trying to tempt me?? Do you realize that I have actually started a new list of projects that I have encountered within the last WEEK that I want to start in 2019. There are a dozen items on it already. But boy howdy, I will HAVE to check out these two QALs. Walking foot QAL – is that more perfect for us??? And the gnomes – their cuteness is just beckoning me in. Happy Monday to you! ~smile~ Roseanne

Ah, what’s a couple more projects?? Join me! 😉

Your quilt is gorgeous, and wonderful that it is going to a new baby, friend of your daughter’s. I might think about the tomte QAL, but time seems to get scarce quickly this time of year. I will hop over and check it out.
piecefulwendy
Thanks, Kathleen! I got addicted to the tomte’s last year. So fun!

Aw, your baby quilt is so soft and sweet! I love that pattern and it looks super in your fabrics 🙂 The walking foot quilt along is very interesting! Hm, I’ll have to think if I have a UFO that would make a good piece for that.
piecefulwendy
Thanks, Louise! Hope you join in!

Sweet pea is just so beautiful in the colours you chose. I will be doing the quilt along as well. My friend Celeste asked us all to join and a group of us are getting our books together. Yay!
piecefulwendy
Oh, I’m so glad to hear that! What fun!

I love seeing the difference quilting can make in a quilt top. Connie did a wonderful job, and I’m sure some sweet baby is going to love having this quilt. Have fun on your QALs! I’d love to join in but my calendar is full. I’ll enjoy seeing all the eye candy! Thanks for linking to MCM Wendy!
piecefulwendy
Thanks, Beth, for the encouragement and for hosting the linky!

Your Sweet Pea quilt is a sweet beauty! Glad to see the final finish. I think the quilting motif is perfect with vines and leaves, and it’s nice it’s heading to a home straight away. I’m sure it will be well loved and used, and may someday be a family heirloom. Make sure you have a label on it.
piecefulwendy
Thanks much, Julie!

Sweet Pea is beautiful! Those fabrics play beautifully in the pattern. And I love seeing you stitch up more of those adorable little gnomes 🙂

Thank you, Tish! It’s good to have another UFO done!
