Thursday Thankfulness
I’m sharing some Thursday Thankfulness today and joining in with LeeAnna and the others listed at Not Afraid of Color as we share what has made us happy or grateful this past week.
I’m thankful for coffee. Even though it doesn’t taste or smell like it used to (thanks to Covid), I still enjoy sipping a warm cup each morning as I begin my day.
I’m thankful for the colors of summer. The blue skies, the pretty flowers on my deck, the smiles and twinkling eyes of family and friends as we meet together once again.
BigJ was able to go to the Boundary Waters with some friends a couple of weeks ago. While there they were treated to this beautiful double rainbow after a rain shower.
I’m thankful for air conditioning. We have had seven days (so far) of mid-90 degree weather, and today our heat index is going to be dangerously high. I’m thankful that I can stay indoors in an air-conditioned house.
The Weekly Wilbs
Of course it goes without saying that I’m thankful for Wilbs and his continual antics that make us laugh.
I’m thankful for you. I appreciate all of you who follow my little blog, leave comments and encouragement, and share a laugh or two with me.
So that’s a little of my Thursday Thankfulness today. How about you – what are you thankful for today?

Fun photos, Wendy! Like you I’m so thankful for air conditioning and seeing people again.

Love the photo of you with Wilbur. There is always much to be thankful for. Today I’m thankful that my shoulder and thumb are improving, and I can do most things I did before my accident.

Oh I love a double rainbow! Give Wilbs a squeeze and scruffing for me! I just wanna snuggle him up!

I’m so sorry to hear that your senses of taste and smell are still off. I sure hope that gets better! I’m glad you can still enjoy a cup of coffee. That’s a beautiful double rainbow photo! Wilbur is very photogenic, and I love the picture of you two!
My Sewful Retirement
Love the double rainbow– how cool! I hope your sense of taste returns soon – I too enjoy my morning cup of coffee! Great picture of you and Wilbs!

I hope your sense of taste and smell return soon. Nice to see Wilbs!

I had forgotten that you had covid – sorry your taste and smell are still off – has any of it somewhat returned? I’m thankful to be able to take a vacation this year!

I didn’t know you had Covid (or I forgot, which is totally possible lately.) I hope you get your taste fully back someday. Having air conditioning is something I’m really grateful for, too. With 108+ temperatures around here, I can’t imagine life without it! Love your Wilbs pics!

So happy that you shared those lovely photos with us. You and Wilbs are quite the couple. The double rainbow was lovely. Getting to see more of my friends is always fun. Perhaps the after effects of Covid will gradually diminish and you will be able to really taste and smell that coffee. Have a good week and stay cool.

Beautiful double rainbow! I always say a little prayer when I see one. Wilbs is such good company and what a cutie!

That is so odd that your taste and smell aren’t back to normal yet?! I hope it gets back to normal at some point.
AC – Thankful for that I am sure!! We are cold this week and supposed to have a heat wave next week. Very weird weather.

oh wendy… the people that say covid isn’t real should read that. One of dh’s coworkers still doesn’t taste and it’s been a long number of months but everyone is different. It’s so stinkin’ hot here too. Our air cannot cool the house enough for me. I love Wibur and that pic of you two is pricelessly touching.

Hi Wendy! I didn’t realize you still were missing your taste and smell. Sue is still without hers and it has been TWO years now. Oddly enough, we had a small breakthrough. She can smell/taste a mandarin (a Cutie) and she can smell Lysol spray. There’s been a story on Chicago TV about a perfume specialist in NYC that has helped several people. She uses essential oils to encourage the return of smell. Sue got a set of 9 essential oils and we are going to concentrate on that this weekend. She has to smell each one and concentrate on it – kind of retraining the brain. I’ll let you know how it goes! And thanks so much for the sweet Wilbs photos. I would love to have a boxful of Wilbs! {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
Carol in Texas
Yes for that a.c.! I swore when it was SO cold here in Texas I would not complain about Texas summer heat! And I am not….it is easier to get cool than to get warm, I think. But we have been using our a.c. the past couple of days after an unusually long wet spell in May and June that kept us cooler than usual. It feels wonderful to come in from the steamy humid air. I am thankful for faces……no masks at the grocery stores so we see the full, lovely faces of others. And I am thankful for the vaccines that have allowed us to return to normal life after such a long time. And I am thankful for wonderful bloggers who share their thoughts and projects with me!!!

I am thankful today that finals week is coming to an end! What a whirlwind my caseload has gotten me into. Only 9 days to go for the 2020-21 school year.

Did you know that ‘thankfulness’ can be contagious? When I read this blog post, I started thinking of all the things I’m thankful for!
So, Thank YOU, for sharing! 🙂

First of all I’d like to say how much I love your hair and what a cute photo! Mine is fine and gets finer as it grows so I’ve never been able to have longer hair.
Beautiful area to photograph. And I’ll mention too that here’s hoping your taste and smell return very soon.

Are those pansies? They’re sure looking good!!!

My AC hasn’t been working so I am doing the throw open the windows once it cools down, close the windows in the morning. Hasn’t been too intolerable even though we have had some mid 80’sdays. Your flowers are gorgeous. Isn’t it nice to be able to get together with friends and family again? Wilbs I just love his attitude. All the cats are now spayed or neutered so they are all outside. I laughed because the teenage grandson was running to bring my dog back, they were racing, and his favorite kitten Haze was running along behind. He ran back and Haze hung out and visited for a few minutes then was off to explore more.

I feel for tea as you do for coffee. 🙂 Yay for summer colors, too. I always love the Wilbur photos.
Quilting is in my Blood
Ha! That nose chomp photo is priceless! I’m with you on coffee, and given your experience, this morning I am VERY thankful I can smell and taste it. Coffee definitely is what gets me up in the morning!

I hear a Fika moment coming on!!!!!
😉
Down here in the deep south…the AC helps more with the humidity slice of the high heat. At some point it doesn’t get cooler so much as less humid inside.
So all that to say – AC is top on my list of thanks!
marissthequilter
Lovely, refreshing post. Enjoy the air conditioning and the flowers simultaneously!

Love your post but as always, Wilbs is my favorite! Have a safe and happy weekend!

Love the pic of you and Wilbs and love your hair! My sense of taste and smell still isn’t back to normal and neither is my nephew’s. What are those gorgeous flowers in that first pic?
quiltedblooms
Your list makes me smile! I love coffee too and hope you can taste yours soon!
Sandra Walker
Oh that double rainbow!! What an incredible photo. I absolutely ADORE that photo of Wilbur about to give your nose a love bite. Thanks for the grins this morning!

The only thing a yellow kitty loves as much as sitting in a box is lounging across the keyboard (while you’re trying to type).
While I’d be fine never smelling or tasting coffee myself, I hate that that loss of senses has lasted so long for you! Covid… goodness… hoping it’s mostly behind us!
