Thursday Thoughts
The snow is gently falling outside as I write this I Like Thursday 63 post. I’ve changed up the title and went with Thursday Thoughts, for something a little different. I’m joining up with LeeAnna over at Not Afraid of Color and the rest of the gang as we share our likes each week.
Our temps are supposed to plummet today, and the wind will pick up, so there is the possibility of a blizzard. I’m grateful for a warm house, although I do wish my quilt room space heater hadn’t died just a few days ago! I’ll be layering up for sewing today.
Do you know about the Cornell University Live Cams on YouTube? I’ve been tuning in to this LiveCam lately, and it’s soothing to watch the tropical birds on these gray winter days. In case the link doesn’t work, it’s the Panama Fruit Feeder Cam at Canopy Lodge.
I’m trying my hardest not to binge read this book today. It’s a good one. If you have an aversion to rodents, however, it might not be the book for you.
I recently discovered this muffin recipe. It’s so easy to make, and the muffins are moist and yummy. I thought I had a photo, but I’m not finding it. Anyway, it’s worth making if you are looking for something new to try.
I also make this recipe for dinner quite often, because it’s simple and quick. It’s an easy one to change up a bit. I use ground beef, ground pork, or ground turkey, sometimes a combination of beef and pork. To stretch it a bit, I might toss in some frozen oriental mix veggies, or chop up carrots and broccoli and toss them in.
The Weekly Wilbs
Barbara over at Cat Patches recently posted a photo of her cat Smitty’s awesome whiskers. Wilbs reminded me that I should post this picture of his whisker awesomeness, so here you go!
When not showing off those whiskers, and getting into things, Wilbs and I spend quite a bit of time together, like this.
I can’t think of a better way to wrap up Thursday Thoughts, my I Like Thursday 63 post.
Take care, my friends – stay healthy and happy!

I like your new title. As you’ve been posting this week after week, I’ve wondered if I liked enough things to come up with that many weeks worth of likes. Wilbur’s whiskers give me whisker envy.

Thanks for the recipes, Wendy. I subscribe to Sally’s blog but I must have missed this muffin recipe. I am “into” muffins right now. I will try both recipes. Your snow picture is beautiful. Here in central Texas snow is a rarity, but to beat all we had a beautiful 4” or 5” snow about two weeks ago. It was a Sunday and we just watched out the windows all day long. Fairyland! Magic! Though I would not want to put up with it all the time!
Love Wilbs……we are cat people too.

Dear friend, your Thursday thoughts warm me on this snowy day!

wilbur’s whiskers… very alliterative. I’m not a rodent fan if you ignore guinea pigs, but I’ll check out your recipes. I”m tired of my own food at the moment

the recipes are great sounding and I have saved them. Stay warm!

Wow, those recipes sound good. Unfortunately my DH is a very picky eater and wouldn’t have any of that! LOL Thanks for sharing that sweet picture of Wilbs. He’s a doll!

Pretty view outside your window today! Hope you’re all bundled up and sewing away! Those recipes sound good – thanks for sharing them. I haven’t read Chris Bohjalian in a long time, so I’ll have to put that one on my list. Nice photo of Wilbur, too!

Tip of the day: (since your heater went out) Try sitting on a heating pad!

Wilbs certainly does have some great whiskers!
Hope you can stay warm while you quilt! Otherwise, you just MIGHT have to binge read your book!! 🙂

I had to open the quilt shop this morning. Three customers by the time I left at 1:30. That bird cam is fun to watch.

Aww, I love the new signature of Wendy and Wilbs. He looks like he will keep you nice and warm when snuggling. Oh shoot about your space heater. I am thinking about getting one for our sewing room. I have a small ceramic one but I’m not sure that it will help at all – it’s so small. With the cold blast that’s coming I am quite thankful for our nice warm house. ~smile~ Roseanne

I need to get a life like Wilbur. 🙂 The bird cam was cool – thanks for sharing that!

Enjoyed the birds, looking at the recipes and of course, Wilbur’s whiskers. I will surely be checking that bird feeder out more often!

I really enjoyed your post. Such a lovely way to enjoy your Thursday. I especially loved seeing Wilb’s beautiful whiskers and his napping in your lap. Cats are the best!

A lovely warm post for a cold day. Thanks Wendy.

Love the snow pic and of course the pics of your handsome kitty.

Thanks for the recipes, I will check both of these out! I hope the storm isn’t as bad as predicated and you stay warm!
Su-sieee! Mac
What a sweet looking guy your Wilbs is. I like that shot of his whiskers in the sun. 🙂

Awww, that’s a sweet pic of Wilbs napping on you. I’m adding that book to my Want to Read list!

Winter seems to have decided to stay for a while. Sorry about your space heater, hopefully you can replace it soon. Wilbs has awesome whiskers.

Lovely snow scenery. Sorry about your heater in the sewing room 🙁 Beautiful cat, and thanks for the livecam link, I used to watch one inside a bald eagle nest, in BC, Canada, years ago when I was there.

I follow a bunch of those wed cams, Wendy, being the bird nut that I am. The nesting eagle and owls will be starting up soon. I think Wilbs photo is stunning; who knew he had such a magnificent profile and I love that sign off. Thanks for the links which I enjoy checking out. Hope you are having a great weekend.
