Thursday Thoughts
I’m late in the day sharing my Thursday Thoughts as I join in with the group and LeeAnna over at Not Afraid of Color. But here I am – better late than not at all, right?!
Wilbs was terribly curious about what was in Tundra’s goodie bag that he brought with him this morning – he had to check it out; he is the resident snoopervisor, y’know!
Hubs had a work meeting that took him to the Duluth area, so I rode along. I took a walk along the lakewalk that morning. While the temps at home were sweltering, it was a chilly 50 degrees with wind and some rain; the walk was lovely. Later that day, we drove along the North Shore a bit – the wind was stronger there, and the water had several layers of color.
I was terribly tempted to buy this mug while we enjoyed our breakfast (eggs bene) at Duluth Grill, one of our must-stops when we are in the area. In the end, I left the mug behind and just came away with this photo.
I finished this book just before we left for Duluth. A new-to-me author and an enjoyable read, with some twists and turns. It takes place in the Boston Public Library, and I suspect it would be fun to read if you live in Boston, or have roots there. I also think it might be a fun audiobook.
We are dogsitting today. Thought you might like to see how Tundra has grown. He’s about 50 lbs now, and not a year yet. He’s cooling his furs a bit here, after lounging in the morning sunshine on our deck.
The Weekly Wilbs
Wilbs and I have been enjoying some serious lap time while I’ve been recovering. I thought you’d like to see some of his poses.
My sleeping hasn’t been quite that relaxed, but I sure do enjoy having Wilbs curled up on my lap!
Happy Thursday, all!
Wendy

Albuquerque is hot, dry and windy so your water’s edge pics were a pleasure to look at. It amazes me how flexible Wilbs is. Enjoy your down time.

I wish I could twist like Wilbs.

Oh Wilbs fits in a lap so much better than poor Neddy does. He really can’t curl up very well though he’d like to. Great shots. What a great companion while recuperating. How nice to join a road trip and get out and about. I’m coming to the realization that this is definitely not my favourite season with so much humidity making the air so horrible to breathe.

The resident snoopervisor has things under control by the looks of it. He makes me want to curl up for a nap!

I loved Duluth when I was there about 4 years ago – it looked the same – blustery around the lake – I love walking in that kind of weather but Mike complains about being cold and uncomfortable and had to cut it short 🙁 needless to say I grew up in that kind of weather – he didn’t

Wilbur knows how to get comfortable, doesn’t he? Sounds like a nice little outing for you.

Love the views of the lake – almost as if you’re at the ocean! Cute mug, too. That book sounds interesting – I’m putting it on my list. I hope Tundra is being a good boy for you, and getting along with Wilbur! I think those poses of his might have yoga names!
The Joyful Quilter
Enjoy your granddog’s visit, Wendy. Tundra certainly has grown!!
Yvonne @Quilting Jetgirl
Oh wow, has Tundra grown! How are he and Wilbs getting along now? Sounds like a nice cool visit to Duluth.
Sally
Hard to say which photos I liked better – Tundra or Wilbs. Tundra looks like one sacked out pup!
Nancy @ Grace and Peace Quilting
Great that you could be in Duluth on that HOT day!!! Love the photos! Snoopervisor–haha!!! Wilbs and Tundra are a color matching pair!!!
Quilting is in my Blood
Wow, Tundra has grown! Cut pic with him all splayed on your cool floor. And I’m going to have to steal you “snoopervisor” expression! Love all the Wilbs poses on your lap.

How nice you were able to go to a cool place and have a day doing something different! My husband would have joined you for the eggs bene.
Looks like Wilbs is doing yoga. Cats are incredibly healing. How many months old is the adorable Tundra? Has he conquered his barking? Boomer is finally house-trained, and I am feeling like life is a little more back to normal. 😉

Ah, Lake Superior! I took my daughter to look at a college in Duluth years ago. She didn’t go there, but it wasa lovely trip, and nice and cool. Tundra looks like he has the right idea!

The weather in Duluth sounds WONDERFUL! I would’ve liked walking along the lakewalk and a breakfast of eggs benedict sounds tasty. Tundra looks like I feel. It’s so hot lately. Have a great week!

I agree, Sue! I would LOVE to walk along that pier and watch the waves. Maybe even find some cool sea glass?!! {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

What’s in there, Wilbs?!! A day late is just fab, Wendy. Especially when you start out with that sweet photo. WOW – 50 degrees in Duluth. Who would have thought?! Rumor has it a “cold front” went through – there were severe storms and six tornados. But where’s the cool part?!! I don’t call 90 cool unless this was Phoenix in August. That long pier looks so inviting and the Lake was really agitated, wasn’t it?! Those layers of color should be a quilt, no?! That book looks good – I wonder if the Boston references are accurate? I imagine that are spot on. HA! Tundra – all that sunshine lounging wore you out?!! It’s a tough life, my friend. Aww, Wilbs – you are a fabulous companion. That small fur bundle can be counted on to investigate any bag for you, AND nap whenever you need to. {{Hugs}} a bunch! I’m glad to see you were able to enjoy a little vacay before dogsitting! ~smile~ Roseanne

That First picture gave me a Good chuckle. What is it about cats and bags? Love the hot doggo pic too.

What a cute photo of Wilbs! You know, I believe this is the first time I’ve seen brown water on the shore. So interesting. It sounds like you had a peaceful trip! That sure is a lovely mug! I just added The Woman in the Library to my TBR! Oh! Tundra sure knows how to nap! Cats on laps….perfect cuddle mates!
