Thursday Thoughts
I have a few Thursday thoughts to share today while I join in with the LeeAnna and the rest of my blogging friends over at Not Afraid of Color. This week, we’ll chat a little about what other arts and crafts we enjoy aside from quilting.
The above photo is a sunset view from Granddad’s Bluff in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. Thought you enjoy the view as much as we did!
Remember that previous post where I talked about my scissors stash? Well, I might’ve added one more . . .
Leopard print – who could resist??
When I’m not quilting, I’m usually reading a book (more on that later in this post). This past year, I picked up some cross stitch once again and have been enjoying that. I haven’t done as much this summer, but the fall/winter season will likely bring it back. Here are two that I stitched up this past year.
Most of the time, though, I’m reading. I just finished this book. If you are familiar with the Jane Austen books, this story will be very familiar to you; if not, it is still an engaging story.
The Weekly Wilbs
I haven’t gotten a fun photo of Wilbs this week, so I thought I’d share this favorite of mine. Most of you have seen this one a few times, but I just giggle each time I see it. He was completely fascinated with the scissors and that tissue paper, making it a bit of a challenge for my daughter as she was cutting out the pattern!
While grabbing lunch on our little anniversary outing, these three came to see if we had any food to share. Two of them look like distant cousins to Wilbs. They were picky eaters – no bread, please, thank you, just give us the protein!
And that’s my Thursday thoughts to share with you! Thanks for stopping by!

For sure you needed those scissors. One of the spare keys to our house is done in leopard.

Leopard print, how could you not need them1

Those little scissors are fun! I seem to be gathering a collection of them, too. Your cross-stitch designs are really delicate and lacy. Where do you find those? Thanks for the book recommendation, too!

Was that a hike or drive up the bluff? I think Wilbs was just making sure M cut on that line and did not wiggle off of it! Will you have a display case for your scissors in the new room?

That bluff is beautiful! Yep, we always need another pair of cute scissors. Your cross stitch looks great. Oh Wilbs, that is the cutest photo of him and your daughter. Can’t believe it’s Thursday already and this month is half gone!

I have seen the view at LaCrosse and it is pretty I believe I have a cousin that still lives there I have totally lost touch with her though and hadn’t heard from her in years. Cute scissors – I should round up all of mine sometime to see what I have

Hi Wendy! Leopard-print scissors?!! Who could possibly pass those up?! And Wilbs – oh, how I’ve missed you. Thanks for sharing that beautiful picture from La Crosse. That is the definition of peaceful right there. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

Wonderful post and such a fun photo of Wilbs and the cutting. It’s almost like he is daring her to go one snip closer! I used to do lots of handwork but then my friend Arthur…itis has made that all but impossible. Writing is also a challenge. But I find ways to get my stitching in!

The scissors were definitely a “I NEED these!” No argument from me! 🙂
Love your cross stitching!
Wilbs definitely knows how to make sure he’s a part of what’s going on! 🙂

Thank you for this great landscape picture. I learn a lot about Wisconsin reading your blogs. Guess creative as quilters are, we are interested in work with our hands. You do fantastic stitching. In a paper art shop I found a Origami bookmark… so, may be an interesting new idea for readers and ladies with skilled fingers. Guess you mark as well your scissors you use for fabric and those for paper. I think I saw little bookmarks triangle created with fabric but for me, this origami paper is thinner than the ones out of triangle craps. So you see, scissors, books and skillful hands …. good combination for the blog news of today. by the way… did little envelopes as well as a test out of origami … but… what do you think about a sewed envelope? Christmas is coming…. soon….

I can see why those scissors had to come home with you! That is a great picture of Wilbur….always interested is something the women of the house are cooking up!

I really enjoyed The Other Bennet Girl.

Those are beautiful cross-stitch projects. They look like tiles or even quilt blocks! That Wilbs sure is a cutie. My Polly likes sitting on anything paper too! Have a great week!

That photo of Wilbs makes me smile every time I see it. He was so intently curious and it shows! 🙂

Beautiful view and neat scissors. I thought having about 8 pairs of scissors was a lot but I’m reading of folks with many more. I read that book a while ago and enjoyed it. We can’t ever seem to be done with the Bennet family. Very cute photo of Wilbs as if it would be anything else!
