Pieceful Life

Thursday Thoughts

I have some Thursday thoughts to share with you today. I’m joining with the others listed at Not Afraid of Color who share their Thursday likes too. I hope you pop over to LeeAnna’s site and read the others’ posts too.

Today I’m thankful for the beauty of the flowers during this summer season. I have some pretty flowers to share with you that I’ve seen this week.

This yellow daylily is bringing some sunshine to my flower garden.

I love these little purple pansies - piecefulthoughts.com

I’m a bit smitten with these pretty little purple pansies. We planted a mix of pansies by our lamp post, and they are so colorful and cheery.

The Weekly Wilbs

The Weekly Wilbs - piecefulthoughts.com

Of course, this post wouldn’t be complete without Wilbs. It has been so hot lately. Wilbs keeps his cool by snoozing on our bed, all stretched out and relaxed. (And yes, I need a quilt for our bed. That comforter is a cheapo we’re using until I make up my mind about a quilt pattern . . .)

My Thursday thoughts have been full floral this week. How about you? What are you finding that brings a smile this week?

Enjoy your day, my friends!

Beautiful blooms! Flowers are one of the best things about summer. Staying cool when you have fur has to be a challenge, the Wilbs doesn’t look too hot. Deciding on a quilt for one’s own bed is a challenge. It took me two years to come up with a design that My Guy would accept. Stay cool and happy stitching!

I like the cheap comforters quilt design! all the flowers are pretty – I haven’t taken the time yet to go around the garden looking at things but will this morning before the heat comes back – it is supposed to feel like a 100 today – I guess we were lucky coming back to Arkansas while a cold front was going on and the humidity was low

Isn’t it just so fun to see all the posies in bloom! So I actually like your white comforter because it make a great backdrop for lots of your quilt photos. I have even thought I should get something like that for that reason!

Such beautiful flowers (and colors) all around! Thanks for the walk around! I see Wilbs is worn out by it all but I find them inspiring so hey, Wilbs, you lay there and I’ll go sew, ok? Glad we all know our jobs. :o).

Beautiful and colorful flowers. Have to say my day lilies are slow to bloom this year but that means I will have them longer. Wilbs does look comfortable. He certainly can’t hide against the white comforter. Stay cool….however you can.

Aww, Wilbs! Wendy, don’t you think that quilters are the worst for making things for themselves?!! I have been (nagging) asking Sue for years about a quilt for her bed. You don’t need to apologize for the comforter – I like the basketweave motif! We have some of the same plants flowering – but even better than the pretty flowers is the rain! We finally have some rain today. WOOHOO!! We are TEN inches behind where we should be. Our Great Lake Michigan will be empty at that rate. EEK. Happy Thursday to you. ~smile~ Roseanne

    Pretty pretty flowers!!
About your bed covering … a friend of mine has something similar on her bed, and then she just puts different smaller quilts on top … a great way to show them off, without making a king sized quilt! 🙂

So much beauty in these pretty photos. I love the gardens at this time of year. Wilbs looks totally comfortable on your bed! I agree. You and I both need quilts for our beds, but my blocks are being squared up as we speak. 😉

pretty purple pansies… alliterative and pretty for sure. All the flowers are. Your gratitude is beauty

What beautiful flowers! Are those your hostas in the top photo? They look “established”. I’ve wanted hostas forever and finally have the perfect spot to grow them, along with impatiens. They both need shade/partial shade, and down south we always had too sun – ugh. Now we have shade right outside our closet window (where the kitties sit and stare outside for hours). Wilbs looks lovely on any bedspread, and I like your “cheapo”.. I have the same thing – a light blue cheapo while I decide on a quilt – lol!

Such pretty flowers. Love the yellow day lily. Wilbs looks like I feel like doing — stretching out but I’d be on top of the A/C register! Ha!

The flowers are gorgeous! Wilbs looks great and your heat is coming our way….always hope it is the last of the season, but we’ll be in Medford next week (mon-thurs), where the apartment is cooler. What is keeping you from making that quilt for your bed???

I never tire of seeing flower photos! Also interesting to see what other folks are growing. Turns out pretty much the same as here! My day lilies are in bloom as well. Always nice to see Wilbs relaxing!
