Thursday Wanderings
I have some Thursday Wanderings to share with you and the rest of the group who join in with LeeAnna over at Not Afraid of Color. Each week we check in with one another, and share little things we see or experience throughout the past week that bring us joy or make us smile.
My first wandering brought me to some patio seating, where the sun was shining through the leaves of the vine covering the roof. (Photo above) I like all the colors of green in the leaves!
My next wandering brought me to a little coffee shop, and we were amused by the ceiling, full of bicycle rims of different sizes.
How about we wander down the main street of my little city? We’ll start with a peek at this lovely flower garden planted on the side of a hill along one of the streets. Someone has put a lot of work into this area, and it’s so restful and pretty.
As we continue to walk down that street, we come to the library, where the steps have recently been painted with the names of children’s books. Isn’t that fun?!
Continuing along, we come to this little parklet. Additional seating for the businesses have been extended out to a few parking spaces for a bit more room. I think it’s a clever idea!
After all that wandering, if was time for a little sewing. Look who wandered up to say hi! He was very curious, and was just as amused to see me as I was to see him. My squirrels are getting bigger!! A member of the squirrel family, this little woodchuck or groundhog scampered off as soon as I tapped on the window.
The Weekly Wilbs
Where was Wilbs during all this excitement? Well, when the woodchuck showed up, he was upstairs, sound asleep. Earlier, though, he was all ears and chatter, keeping an eye on an attempted murder – haha!
Thanks for joining me on my Thursday wanderings today. Feel free to wander on over to Not Afraid of Color and read some of the other posts, too!

A Parklet-never heard of that one before, cute idea! But I really love those steps painted like that, I’ll bet that keeps a few kiddos amused too!

That was a fun post, Wendy! I enjoyed seeing snippets from your wanderings. The garden is beautiful, and I love the library steps, too. The woodchuck looking in your window is a hoot!

My little town does that exact thing of flowing onto the parking area of the street – it’s great! LOL loved your quip about Wilbs and the murder! Beauty truly is everywhere.
Helen
Fabulous library stairs!

Loved your photo tour and the look at all the interesting places in your town. Those library stairs are the best. I love watching the crows and listening to them talk. Wilbs looks like he is ready to tackle them! Couldn’t pick a favorite photo if I tried.

what a cute town! LOVE the stairs, that was brilliant. I saw a home where each stair had a word painted on it, back in Annapolis.

I too liked the library steps. And the motto over the door! Welcoming, as a library should be! Thanks for the walk around your small city! I liked the vine covered patio! Pretty!

What a fun wander. Lots of pretty places to stop and enjoy. What a cute woodchuck. Kind of like the guys we rehomed, they are cute, but oh so destructive.
Sally
Love the bicycle wheels on the ceiling. And the library books steps are cool. Ooh birdies! Endlessly fascinating.

This sounds like a super fun, my-kinda day! Love wondering through small towns around here (esp ones with quilt shops). Your little woodchuck is a hoot!

That Wilbs, love how he is watching for a murder of crows, smart fellow. Meanwhile, that was a great wander we had. My favourite was the children’s books titles painted on the Library steps…awesome. Lovely town for you to enjoy, Wendy.

Your wander through your pretty town sure makes me want to come visit. Wilbs ears must have been quivering with excitement! 😉

The library steps are a clever idea. That little woodchuck is cute! Ohh that Wilbs bet he would have liked to be on the outside this time.

Hi Wendy! That brick wall looks like matchstick quilting! And those library steps – how cool and clever are they?!! I’ll just bet Wilbs had several thoughts about what he witnessed. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne
