To Do Tuesday #19
For To Do Tuesday #19, you can see that I had help (above photo). Wilbs evidently had quite a tale to tell. You can see that I’m still making my little plus blocks. I’ll have to catch you up on them soon.
With all that help, let’s see what else I had on my to do list two weeks ago:
- Make a shower gift ASAP – Done!
- Fabric Pull for Test Quilt – Not Yet!
- 2019 Monthly Color Challenge top – Done!
I completely forgot to take a finished photo of the shower gift, but this is a little snippet of it. The little runner was about 10″ x 21″ , a nice size for a small table. The bride-to-be’s favorite colors are black and purple, so I pulled out my fabrics and did a little improv piecing with my blacks, dark grays and a few purples. I added an inner border of purple and an outer border of black. The backing and binding is the same fabric as the border. I did wavy line quilting in black, then added a few wavy lines in purple.
You might have noticed that Wilbs is assisting arranging my 2019 Monthly Color Challenge blocks. He seemed to have issues with that one particular block. I have the top pieced, and I’ll be writing a post on it soon.
What’s up for this week?
- Improv Pillow top quilted
- Doll Hospital Gowns*
- Monthly Color Challenge blocks
- June Churn Dash Blocks
- Deli Geese blocks
*Doll hospital gowns are sent to Amy from A Doll Like Me. Bernie at Needle & Foot just put out the call for more gowns. If you are interested in helping out, you can go here for more information.
That should keep me busy for the next week! I’m linking my To Do Tuesday #19 post to Roseanne and Sue’s To Do Tuesday linky party over at Home Sewn by Us today. Feel free to join us – we’re a fun group!

With all the help from Wilbs I don’t know how you get as much done as you do.

Did you hear back from the bride to be about the cute runner? You have a great list for this week, buckle down and you will soon be done!! With the rain coming in today and the heat you won’t be running around outside so it’s the perfect time to sew.

Two out of 3 is good! Especially getting the shower gift done in the nick of time!

That is a cute grouping of fabrics for your shower gift. Good thing Wilbur is on the job helping with the arrangement. I don’t know how we’d get anything done without the help of our furry friends.

The purple is so pretty with the different black and gray prints in the runner! I bet the bride loved it! Looking forward to seeing your color challenge quilt, too. Wilbur looks like such a good helper! 🙂

Oh Wilbur – such a silly cat.
Thank you for putting doll gowns on your to-do list. Amy will be so happy to have her stock replenished. 🙂

Hi Wendy! Aww, Wilbur! Such a help he is! I love that little tail wiping out your pretty staging. Interesting colors for the bride and her runner. You did a great job piecing it and I’m certain she loves it! I’m looking forward to seeing your quilt top of the 2019 color blocks. Thanks so much for linking up this week. Number 19 for to-dos for you – wow! ~smile~ Roseanne

Wow! You have been really busy! Love the idea of the doll gowns; I don’t do garment sewing though but admire those who can! Your cat cracks me up!!! He’s very opinionated, isn’t he?

How appropriate that the orange cat is partial to the orange block! Those colour challenge blocks look terrific; the quilt will be striking for sure. It was very kind of you to make a runner for the bride-to-be in her favourite colours. She’s sure to appreciate it.
