To Do Tuesday #2

I have good quilting progress to report for this To Do Tuesday #2. I’m joining with Home Sewn by Us and the rest of the TDT bloggers to share all our stitching happiness throughout this past week.

Much of my progress was due to a feisty snowstorm that blew (quite literally) through our area, leaving us with 5 inches of snow, freezing rain, and wind. With that little cocktail going on outside, I sidled up to my handsome Janome and got to work. Wilbur was by my side, keeping me focused.

To Do Tuesday #2 - Wilbur is keeping me on task while I work on Awesome Ocean blocks, a pattern by Elizabeth Hartman - piecefulthoughts.com

Here’s a review of my goals from my last To Do Tuesday post:

MQG Swap Mini

Progress. The top is finished and waiting to be prepped and quilted. I can’t show you a picture yet, but soon.

Churn Dash Personal Block of the Month

Done!

To Do Tuesday #2 - My churn dash blocks for January are done, using Kona Pacific for the background fabric and green scraps from my stash - piecefulthoughts.com

I decided on Kona Pacific for the background for the blocks. This month I made green churns. I’ll do a different color of churns for each month.

Awesome Ocean Blocks

Progress – I’m almost caught up. Here are the three sets I finished this week. Kathleen has been keeping us swimming along well with this sew along!

It’s been a bit of a fishy week around here. The ocean theme was a nice diversion from the howling blizzard outside.

2019 Color Challenge Quilt

Not finished. I made an attempt to finish, but it didn’t play out. Back to the drawing board. I did, however, get the January block for the 2020 Color Challenge done. I’ll share more on that in another post.

To Do List for this Week

Quilt the MQG Swap Mini. I know how I’m going to quilt it, so I just need to get the top, batting and backing together and get to work.

Awesome Ocean SAL. I hope to get the next set of blocks done this week. I will be doing a guest post on one of the block sets at the end of February, so I hope to get that block done this week as well.

Dust Off a Quilt Book Blog Hop. I’ll be joining in this hop hosted by BeaQuilter, so I need to choose my project and pull my fabrics.

My To Do Tuesday #2 list should keep me busy for the week, don’t you think? Anyone else feel like January is flying by?

What are your sewing plans for this week? Let me know. Better yet, link up with Home Sewn by Us so we can cheer you on!

You have been productive! It’s fun to see the variety of sewing, and I’m glad Wilbur takes his work seriously. I was spray basting a baby quilt and then realized it was spray starch. Uff da! It was time to take a break. Haha! But I hope to get back at it today.

Hi Wendy! I do feel like January is whipping by. Would you please slow it down??!! That photo of Wilbur is just so darn sweet. Yes, he was right there . . . making sure you kept focused and didn’t even think about that darn snowstorm. We actually lost power yesterday! Nice and sunny and someone decided to trim trees. They took out thousands of homes and businesses – so annoying when my plans included lots of sewing. Thanks for linking up today. I’m looking forward to seeing your Dust Off project. ~smile~ Roseanne

Oh, I love your different fish blocks! The colorful batiks are so perfect for them. Glad you’re getting started on your churn dash project, too – the Kona Pacific background is so pretty! Snow and freezing rain does not sound like a good combination… although would definitely make a great snow day!

So glad that handsome Janome kept you busy over the last few days. Great progress – I am always grateful for the extra time a snowstorm brings these days. I didn’t do Bea’s hop as I am away a bit, at the end of Feb/Beginning and end of March so I think I will hold off joining in the next until April or May. Look forward to seeing what book/project you choose.

Oh my, that combination of a little cocktail and a handsome companion was just perfect. Looks like you two got busy and made a whole lot of fish – each one is cuter than the next 🙂 The churn dash blocks look very neat and I am waiting for the big reveal 🙂

That Dust Off a Quilt Book Blog Hop sounds very interesting. I wish I would’ve known about it BEFORE my Quilty Project Lineup. I have a book, well I have several but one where I’ve marked a couple of quilts I eventually want to make. Maybe I’ll do just one block for now like Beaquilter suggests.
