To Do Tuesday #3
Well, the week flew past and here I am with my To Do Tuesday #3. Here is my list of projects with updates from last week, Jan. 21 – 28th.
Quilt the Modern Quilt Guild Swap Mini – Done!
Awesome Ocean SAL – No progress this week.
Dust Off a Book Blog Hop – In progress. I’ve chosen the book and started piecing a project. Here’s a little peek.

I’m using some scraps from my stash, sewing strips. That’s all I can show you for now. I’ll be posting on March 2 for the Hop.
Part of my distraction this week has been a fun hand sewing SAL on Instagram. We are doing some sashiko stitching. Here’s a peek at one of my projects.

This piece is called Two Cranes, and I’m working it in a variegated blue sashiko thread. It is a pre-printed pattern measuring about 14″ square. I enjoy stitching on this in the evenings while watching a show.
To Do List for This Week
Deli Geese BOM – This is a block of the month for our local quilt group, and I’ll be demonstrating the next block at our February meeting, so I need to finish the block and practice my presentation.
2019 Monthly Color Challenge Quilt – Begin piecing the top together
Awesome Ocean SAL – Finish the next set of blocks.
We’ll see how well I do on my To Do Tuesday #3 list this week. I’m linking up today with Home Sewn By Us for their To Do Tuesday linky party. Hope to see you there!

Good Morning, Wendy! WOW – those Two Cranes are just gorgeous. Your stitching looks so nice and neat and you’re really doing a lovely job. Do you have plans for the piece when it’s complete? Pillow or maybe the star center block for a larger quilt? I love the fabrics you pulled for the Book Hop! Good luck on another productive week. Thanks for linking up this week! ~smile~ Roseanne

Your Sashiko project looks interesting. I attended a guild many years ago, and one of the projects was Sashiko. I didn’t do mine, and I forget why, but I love the look of it.

I love the Sashiko project – what is your feeling about the variegated thread in it? Mostly I love variegated, but I don’t know if I like in in Sashiko as much. Good luck with your week. Mini quilt is on my list come Wednesday!

Your Sashiko stitching is beautiful, Wendy! That sounds like a fun craft to try. Looking forward to seeing your swap mini, and the Dust off a Book blog hop, too!

Loving the sashiko cranes, Wendy? Are they difficult to sew?
Quilting is in my Blood
I’m with the rest of your quilting fans, I absolutely love the sashiko cranes. I’ve thought about doing a sashiko project for a long time, and it would be perfect when I travel to take with me so I don’t go into sewing withdrawals! Take care, Mary.
