To Do Tuesday 32
To Do Tuesday 32, my second post for today, is a review of my to do list for the past week and how well I did – or didn’t – do. Roseanne and Sue of Home Sewn by Us faithfully cheer me on while I work on my projects each week; I do my best to return the favor.
There have been squirrels in abundance this week at Pieceful Thoughts, but first let’s take a look at my list of projects for the past week:
- Decide on October blog hop project – Done
- Design challenge quilt – Still Brewing
- Continue batik projects – Another batik done!
- Quilt Color Pop Quilt – more fabric needed, which arrived yesterday
The October blog hop and the challenge projects are not finished, but at least I’ve decided on what I’m doing for the blog hop. I think I’ve come up with an idea for the challenge quilt; I just need to give it a try and see if it works. The idea in my head is pretty cool; not sure I can translate that to needle and fabric!
My batik scrap projects are coming along. I have a runner done, which I will post soon.
Sew What Was I Doing All Week?
The Color Pop Quilt – I honestly had to think about which quilt that was when I saw my list. I named it as I was writing the post, and then forgot. Want a peek?
See that background color? I’m playing with Kona Pickle once again. This was a fun project. Now that the fabric is here, I can get it quilted.
Did you see Em’s Scrapbag Wonky Maverick Star Block tutorial? I had to make some. I wasn’t sure about the background fabric, but it’s growing on me. It has a chalkboard look to it, and makes those stars pop. These are so easy to make, use up scraps, and are so versatile. I can see these as a pillow, a design on a tote, or a fun lap quilt, etc.
So what’s up for next week? Well, I’m keeping it simple, so I can just play with the squirrels. That seems to keep me amused while I’m ignoring the other things I should be working on. Here goes:
- September Churn Dash blocks
- Play with challenge quilt idea
- October blog hop
I hope you stop in at Home Sewn by Us and check out the others linking up today. Maybe you’ll find some good inspiration for a new project!
Thanks for reading my To Do Tuesday 32 post, friends!

Good morning, Wendy! Are you trying to pass on a squirrel??! Those wonky stars are so fun and I LOVE the background you chose. Sigh. I’m going to HAVE to check out the link you nicely provided. I don’t really need a distraction at all. I already feel like I’m drowning in stuff I should concentrate on . . . but they’re SO cute. And Color Pop (wisely named) looks so cool – I love that color Pickle. Thanks for linking up this week! ~smile~ Roseanne

Now stop that your squirrels are tempting me again-the star blocks are so cute! Are you doing her size or your own? I like your dark background.

I got a chuckle out of your naming, and then forgetting the name of your quilt. That sounds like something I would do. Love all that color.

I did watch her video, and saw a couple things I could do differently when I make some in the future. I love yours – the brights against the dark background are so fun! I saw that you have another post today, too – off to read that one! 🙂

Oh you KNOW I am going to check out that stars link… So glad that someone is allowing the little bug…er squirrels to romp unheeded in a sewing room! Loving that Pickle. Can’t wait to see it quilted!

Color Pop has pickle in it. I love that fabric and your stars? Be still my heart. Thanks for sharing your squirrel. It just might take up some space here. Good luck with this week’s list!

You are one busy quilter and lots of fun. I like the background on the stars and I think as it comes together it will grow on you!

I keep getting “duplicate comment detected” when I post the comment I wanted to make, so let’s just say I love your projects – lol!
