To Do Tuesday #4
I’m linking up with Roseanne & Sue over at Home Sewn by Us with my To Do Tuesday #4. I had just a few items on my to do list last week, so let’s see how I did.
Deli Geese BOM – My blocks are done, the steps for the demo are almost ready. I made good progress this week. I forgot to take photos, so I’ll try to sneak that in next week. This actually took most of my time this week, organizing the kit I was given, walking through the steps and instructions, and making notes as well as the blocks. I’m excited to present the block this month!
2019 Monthly Color Challenge Quilt Top – I didn’t work on it this last week; I’m undecided on the sashing. However, I did get the February block done for the 2020 Monthly Color Challenge, and I’ll be posting that soon.
Awesome Ocean SAL – No progress on it again last week, so this will be on my list once again this week.
A Few Diversions
As you know from my last post, I had a few diversions this week, like the little Weebraw bag from my last post.
In the evenings, I’ve been enjoying stitching on the Two Cranes Sashiko pattern. I’m enjoying the look of the gradient blue thread. It’s very relaxing to do while I watch a show.
I don’t have too much left to finish. Then I’ll need to decide what to do with this piece – a pillow? Frame it?
This week, I’m going to keep my list a bit shorter. There are some other activities coming up – like the annual Groundhog Day Potluck lunch at my husband’s office, which is hosted by the two of us. It’s always a fun event!
Here are my projects for this coming week:
Modern Quilt Shop Mini – Take some photos and then get it in the mail.
Awesome Ocean – I need to work on my block for my guest post. I’m hoping to work on this today.
Dust Off a Quilt Book Blog Hop – I have the quilt top done, so I should get it basted and think about how to quilt it. This was a fun project, all made from my scrap stash.
That’s my To Do Tuesday #4. Thanks, Roseanne & Sue, for keeping me in line week to week with this linky party!

Love your sashiko, such even stitching, mine would be all different lengths. Good luck with this weeks list.

Hi Wendy! Your slow stitching Sashiko project is coming along so nicely. I just LOVE the background fabric and the thread color changes just enhance it all the more. Was this a kit? I wonder how you will finish it! I’m looking forward to your guest post as well as the BOM block. Good job on your list, and here’s to another productive week. Thanks so much for linking up today! ~smile~ Roseanne

I used to participate in the “Let’s Book It” monthly sew-along. You might be surprised at what you find when you start looking at your books. I tried a lot of new techniques that way. Looks like you have plenty to keep you busy.

Hi Wendy, that`s a lot of projects on the go. Good luck. BTW can you send me the link to the “Dust off a book” blog hop? I can`t find it 🙂

Your sashiko stitching looks just wonderful, Wendy! Does it require a special kind of thread? I need to make my February color block, too – haven’t pulled any fabric yet, but maybe today. I’ll look forward to that blog hop coming up!

The sashiko crane is just lovely. That is the perfect project for the variegated thread. I have a few hand kits to pull out and see if they are coming to QuiltCon and I know one is sashiko, but now I want the crane!!! I think a pillow, bag or even table topper for a more decorative table is perfect. A wall hanging with Asian fabric would be nice, too, depending on space. I have a friend who rotates quilts monthly or seasonally in her kitchen and love that idea. Good luck this week.
Quilting is in my Blood
Hi Wendy! I have an unexpected snow day today, so I’ve been getting caught up with blog posts and IG posts. I had to look up your Awesome Ocean project. Love the octopus blocks! I’m a total fan of Elizabeth Hartman, and though I’m tempted to make the Awesome Ocean, my next project of hers will be some blocks from her North Stars quilt. That won’t be until next year for my nephew’s 50th. Take care, Mary.

Wendy your cranes are beautiful. I think a wall hanging is the choice.

Deli geese sounds like cheesy turnovers 🙂 or triangle shaped sandwiches. May be I am hungry.
Those cranes are so pretty that they flew right into my heart 🙂

Steady progress on the list from the week before. Hopefully you’ve had good luck with the items on this week’s to do list.
