To Do Tuesday 41

I’m here with my To Do Tuesday 41 post, checking in after the Thanksgiving holiday. I hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving, despite not being able to gather with family. We enjoyed a quiet Thanksgiving with good food, some games and shows, and just resting.

I’m joining the To Do Tuesday linky party hosted each week by Roseanne and Sue over at Home Sewn by Us. I actually did get some sewing done once my energy returned, so let me show you a little of what I’ve been doing.

Deli Geese Blocks are Done

While my local quilt group has not met since March, we are still sewing together. The Deli Geese Block of the Month are blocks designed by Pat Speth, who gave us permission to use them for a BOM. Each month, two blocks were made. I opted to make the 12″ blocks. Here are my blocks for October through December.

Now it’s time to play with the layout of the blocks, which I will do soon. I’m curious to see the secondary patterns that come from the layout. I’ll be sure to take photos and share them with you.

A Little Secret Sewing

Gather those red/pink HSTs for a fun project coming in January - piecefulthoughts.com

It’s that time of year when secret sewing projects abound, right? This little gathering has now become a quilt. I can’t show you until next year, but if you have left over red/pink HSTs from your current sewing, keep them close by. You might want to use them for this project. Stay tuned!

Projects for the Coming Week

Wow I love those blocks – especially the colors you used. I just Googled Deli Geese blocks and found a page with Pat Speth’s name on it with 52 blocks. Some of them were named after characters in Outlander! I’d love to make all of them.
Looking forward to seeing new holiday recipes!

That will be interesting to see your Deli Geese together. Your secret sewing looks like something for Valentines! I am so glad you haven’t had ‘too’ hard of a time with having COVID.

Hi Wendy! That pile of red gorgeousness is very intriguing and oh so pretty. I love red! Your guild blocks are equally pretty – I adore the fabrics you’ve chosen and their placement. This will be a fun quilt when it’s all together. Thanks in advance for linking up and yay to week #41! ~smile~ Roseanne

Glad you are feeling better. Your blocks are so colorful, they make me smile. I hope your baking mojo is back. Also hope the rest of the family stayed well. Can’t believe it is just over 3 weeks until Christmas.

The Deli Geese (odd name!) blocks are really cool! I see that the borders for each month are similar, but not identical. I thought I could kinda see the patterns in my mind’s eye, but October is a puzzle. Now I’m wondering if it is a transition between different border/sashing regimes. So interesting! 🙂

Looking forward to seeing the layout of your year’s monthly blocks and the results of your “secret sewing”. I am impressed with all that you have accomplished and trust that you are feeling better.
