To Do Tuesday 42
I’m here with my To Do Tuesday 42 post, joining in with Roseanne and Sue from Home Sewn by Us. Each week, we link up with our weekly progress on our to do lists. Let’s take a look at how I’ve done this week.
- Plan out my challenge quilt – in the works
- Work on secret Christmas sewing – in progress; waiting for fabric
- Make something just for fun – Done!
Since I have nothing to show for the challenge quilt or the Christmas quilt, I’ll just show you the photo from my recent Instagram post. This is the fun project I did for the week.
This little house pattern is called Heart of the Home and was designed by Jayne of Twiggy & Opal. It is a foundation paper-piece pattern and the pattern offers three sizes. The pattern goes together quite quickly, and I had enjoyed fussy cutting the gnome and the candle for the windows.
In fact, I had so much fun I made the next larger size, too. Peeking out of the windows in this little house? An elf and his snowman and two playful penguins.
The photo was taken in the evening, so it looks darker than it really is. These little houses are so addictive and fun. I’m pretty sure I’ll be making a few more!
What will I be working on this next week?
- Christmas Quilt – if the fabric arrives!
That’s it – that will be my main focus this week. When I’m not working on that, I have some secret sewing to work on too.
That’s my short and sweet To Do Tuesday 42. Hope you have some fun sewing projects going on in your sewing room!

These are absolutely adorable! I’m keeping my fingers crossed the UPS (FEDEX or USPS) fairy drops off the magical Christmas quilt fabrics 🙂

I’ll bet you had fun searching through your fabrics for just the right one to put in the window! Both are so adorable!

What cute houses – love the fussy cutting. That does look fun. I should join you in such fun sewing. I left the sewing room in disgust yesterday after cutting fusible interfacing backwards for 10 stockings – lol! Maybe I need a fun break. 😉

These are just so cute–nice work–love a peek through the windows–like going for a ride at night and seeing everyone else’s trees shining through their windows. Hugs from afar Stay safe Julierose;()

Those are so fun, Wendy! Thanks for helping me have an “aha” moment through your Instagram post yesterday! I think I only printed out the 6 inch size pages and promptly forgot that I saved everything else. 🙄 So hilarious sometimes! Meanwhile, hope you get a chance to work on that Christmas quilt!

Hi,
Really cute House block. I’ll have to try that out. Have a great day!

Wendy your new house block is even sweeter than the first one! Looking forward to you revealing the Christmas quilt and did you say secret sewing 😉

The windows of the houses are sooo cute! Complete side-note: I went from your “secret Christmas sewing” to the acronym S. C. S. to singing it to the tune of Abba’s “S.O.S.” in about 4.3 seconds. (You’re welcome if that’s now stuck in your head! And yes, this is what quarantine does to some people!) Anyway, I’m looking forward to seeing everyone SCS’s the day after Christmas!
