To Do Tuesday 66
While I’m writing this To Do Tuesday 66 post, Wilbs is sitting on the arm of the chair, wishing I would move this computer off my lap so he could get on it. Cats rule, you know. He’ll just have to wait, I already missed last week’s TDT post, so I need to bring you up to date on what’s happening here at Pieceful Thoughts.
Since my last TDT post, I finished my challenge quilt and shared it with The Endeavourers. If you missed it, you can find it here. I also had a guest post from my inner squirrel, Winnie, and you can read her post here. My other goal from my last post was to get my mug rug finished for the No Ring November Mug Rug Blog Hop coming up soon. I got mine finished, and I’m looking forward to sharing it with you on November 16th.
I also stitched up another test block for Sandra Healy Designs, this cute little angel block. Sandra’s instructions give options for angels facing left or right, and with or without a heart. The pattern is now available at Sandra Healy Designs.
One of my goals this week is to prep a backing for my Coreopsis quilt. I’ve been doing some informal quilt alongs with Emily of The Darling Dogwood. She has long since finished her Coreopsis, and you can read about hers here. This is my quilt top.
I made my version using V&Co’s ombre Fairy Dust. I think I need to get this finished for the holiday season – it makes me think of a poinsettia. Once I have the backing ready, then I need to decide if I’m going to try to quilt it, or ask Connie to work her magic. The pattern is Coral Coreopsis by James & Gracie.
My other goals for this week is to get caught up on the next quilt along Emily & I are doing. I’ve fallen behind, so I need to catch up so I don’t slow her down!
I also have one more quilt to bind, my Monthly Color Challenge quilt for 2020. If I get my wiggle on, I might get it finished before I finish my 2021 Monthly Color Challenge quilt, so another good goal as we come to the end of the year.
That’s a wrap for my To Do Tuesday 66 post. What have you been working on this week?

I love that angel block! And your Coreopsis quilt is beautiful. It definitely looks like a large Christmas poinsettia! I love the Fairy Dust fabric you chose! It really makes it sparkle! See you next week on the hop!

I love that Coreopsis block – I don’t think I have seen a pattern for that one.

Well, I love your angel, and the coreopsis quilt is gorgeous. Great colors you’ve chosen.

Your Coreopsis quilt reminds me of a poinsettia too! That angel block is cute too! I’ve been working on making flannel bear paw blocks. I ran out of background fabric so a trip to the quilt store is likely on my list for today. . .

Coreopsis is so pretty! It does look like a pointsettia, and the Fairy Dust makes me think of snow falling. I really love that angel, too! I’m going to check out that pattern. 🙂

Wow it’s the coreopsis shape! I’ve always loved those and now will have to have the pattern (squirrel!). I really like that Fairy Dust fabric too. I’m excited to see your color challenge quilt.
Thanks for linking to To Do Tuesday! 🙂

I’ll chime in too Wendy. Coreopsis is gorgeous and you are right, kind of like a poinsettia and Christmasy. You have been busy and I like the way you team up with quilting buddies. I love the angel block and especially with the heart. Love that photo of Wilbs’ tail.

Hi Wendy (and patient Wilbs)! Ooh, the 16th can’t get here soon enough. I look forward to seeing your make for the hop – well, everyone’s mug rug for that matter. Those make such quick and easy gifts. Your angel block is nice! I made a similar one for a Christmas quilt a few years back as an ode to Sue’s sister. Love, love, LOVE Coreopsis. OMG! It is so darn pretty. V&G rock, in my book, anyway but this celebrates the holiday season so nicely. It’ll be another fab finish. {{Hugs}} ~smile~ Roseanne

Well, Wendy, I think it is unanimous that the Coreopsis quilt is a winner. Love the fabric choice. I see that fabric every once in a while on line and wonder how it looks in projects. Now I know!! The Angel block is beautiful and I hope you find a deserving project to complete her with. As for Wilbur, he thinks this blog is about him. Looking forward to the mug rughop next week.

I love the Coreposis! I am not sure what I would quilt on that but I am sure Connie would come up with something fabulous. Nice job, Wilbs, trying to distract Wendy from her blogging.

You have been so productive, as ever, Wendy! I love how your angel turned out and I can’t wait to see her in a completed project.

I love how your Coreopsis turned out!

I’m trying to figure out how big Coreopsis is (I even checked out the other blog)–lap size? (I never would know what a coreopsis was but with a sis-florist, I’ve def. heard that one before.) It is rather stunning, esp with the Fairy Dust fabric–just perfect for the upcoming holidays! Goodness–just lovely!
marissthequilter
Just love your coreopsis quilt. They are such cheerful flowers in real life, although the ones in my garden are yellow. That’s just BTW. Well done on another impressive to do post.
Quilting is in my Blood
Cats definitely rule! Mug rugs are such quick, enjoyable projects. I can’t wait for your mug rug blog post. I think your angel is absolutely adorable. And last but not least, I absolutely love your Coral Coreopsis quilt which I’m sure comes as no surprise since it’s made with beautiful ombré fabric. I may need a Christmas ombré quilt or runner some day!
Janine @ Rainbow Hare
This is a nice Christmassy post. I love your angel and your also ombre Fairy Dust quilt. Today I thought I would do a To do Tuesday post. Then I realised it was Wednesday! Maybe next week…Good luck with all your to-dos this week 🙂

Wendy, your fabric choices are the best! So beautiful! Gorgeous!
